Go dry in July for a good cause
Go dry in July and do yourself and charity a favour!
The Dry July idea is simple; don’t drink for the month of July and get people to sponsor you for the effort. Sound easy? You don’t often get the chance to raise money for charity by not doing something! The funds raised will go directly towards creating better environments and support networks for adult cancer patients and their families at:
ACT – The Canberra Hospital – Canberra
NSW – Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation Dreams2Live4 Charity – Sydney
QLD – The Mater Adult Hospital – Brisbane
SA – The Queen Elizabeth Hospital – Adelaide
VIC – The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Melbourne
WA – Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital – Perth
Those supporting the cause include Tom Williams, Roy Billing (Underbelly) and a raft of radio favourites such as ABC Sydney’s Adam Spencer, Triple J’s Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall, WSFM’s Amanda Keller and Nova’s Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald.
The different footy codes are also taking on the challenge, with the Rabbitohs Youth team, Port Adelaide’s Shaun Burgoyne and ex-Docker and radio personality Shaun McManus all getting behind the fundraiser, with more expected to sign up soon.
Don’t think you can last a whole month? For those special occasions when only a drink will do, a Golden Ticket can be purchased that allows you to drink on a chosen day for a minimum $25 donation.
Registration is easy, simply head to the website www.dryjuly.com to sign up as an individual or group and go Dry this July. Go on, your liver will love you for it!
