Question: After seven years on my own (with my son) I’m beginning to worry that I’ll end up alone and lonely once he leaves home. I don’t get out much due to illness, and can’t imagine how I will ever meet Mr. Right. Do you have any good news or advice for me?
Dear Divine Ms D,
It is clear that you have spent the best part of a decade putting others’ needs before your own. This is what comes naturally to mothers, so don’t beat yourself up for doing what needs to be done. However, there comes a time when everyone needs to take something back for themselves – whether it be time, material sustainance, emotional support, or whatever is lacking.
In your case, you have learned to define yourself through your son and your illness. It is time to delve within and ask your inner goddess what it is that you need in order to radiate the real ‘you’ to others.
Your guiding goddess for this purpose is Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She brings love and healing to those around her through grace and increased self-confidence.
Aphrodite revelled in indulging her appetites, and inspires you to do so too. If you wish to recapture the feeling of being ‘red hot’ and highly wanted, energise your inner Aphrodite to gain the energy and confidence to flirt and have fun. Regardless of your shape or size, Aphrodite is here to help you exude a magnetic charisma which, if you allow it to express itself fully, will make you feel attractive and desirable.
Her symbols are doves, swans, roses, apples, arts and all things graceful, inspired and creative. To invite Aphrodite’s energy into your life, hang an image of her symbol(s) in your bedroom and arrange seven small pink candles, a related essential oil* and a pink scarf underneath or next to the image.
Each morning as your body is still steaming from the shower, sit in front of a mirror, and light one candle. Anoint the candle with the oil from top to bottom, and then yourself – a drop over your heart chakra, each of your wrists, and on the balls of your feet. Breathe in the scent all allow yourself to meditate for a few moments. Repeat your affirmation, or a dedication to Aphrodite:
Aphrodite goddess of love,
Bless me with your grace.
Love grows, Love flows
Love flows, Love grows
Allow the candle to burn out as you get ready for the day. Place the remaining candles and oil in the scarf until the next day, repeating the process each morning.
Always remember the aura you exude is the aura you will attract: be a magnet for love by exuding self-love! I see this process taking you several months – you do have some ingrained habits to reverse, after all.
But the good news is that I see “Mr Right” appearing in a summer month in two years’ time. Trust that the Universe will help your paths meet, and continue to trust even when you do not recognise him as “Mr Right” to start with 🙂
Love and light
