Hiddleswift Is History: Taylor And Tom Call It Quits

September 7, 2016

Are they really never (ever) getting back together?

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have broken up. Reports say the end of their three-month romance is “amicable,” but word is that Swift may have been fed up with the actor’s desire for a public romance, prompting the split.

Hiddleston certainly made no secret of his love for Swift, proudly sporting an ‘I (heart) TS’ muscle shirt and telling The Hollywood Reporter in July, “Taylor Swift and I are together and we’re very happy. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”

The short-lived Hiddleswift affair came on the heels of Swift’s breakup with musician Calvin Harris, which lasted just over a year. Harris and Swift broke up last June, shortly after their first anniversary. In July, the heartbroken Harris released a song with lyrics hinting that Swift cheated on him.

Just a couple of weeks after the Harris/Swift split, Hiddleston and Swift were photographed by paparazzi, canoodling on the beach in Rhode Island. Soon after that, Hiddleston attended Swift’s annual Fourth of July bash, wearing the now-famous ‘I (heart) TS’ shirt and splashing in the ocean with her.

The romance may have been short, but it seemed serious. Case in point: the two had already met each other’s parents. In June, Swift travelled to the UK to meet his folks, while he met hers at her home in Nashville.

Not surprisingly, Twitter has gone wild with reactions to the Hiddleswift bust-up.

Writing songs is one way to get over a broken heart – and with not one, but two breakups to write about, Swift’s new album is sure to be a doozy.

We’ll be eagerly waiting for it to drop, to find out what went wrong.
