Homemade Dry Shampoo Recipe

August 27, 2014

Forget about wasting those empty dollars on dry shampoo which does nothing but leave your hair feeling oily and greasy. Make your own homemade dry shampoo with ingredients straight from the pantry, to keep hair looking clean and voluminous.

1/4 cup cornstarch

1 tablespoon baking soda

2 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Light hair

1. If you have extremely light hair, it is best to use the recipe without cocoa powder. This could stain your hair if it’s light blonde, or extremely prone to breakage.

2. Combine the cornstarch and baking soda into a container, and shake well. Keep it as long as you want – this recipe will last for months if stored in an airtight container.

Dark hair

1. Mix the cornstarch, baking soda and cocoa powder in a small bowl then use directly onto your hair. The added cocoa powder will also make your hair smell super-sweet!
