How to do rainbow eye makeup!

June 23, 2009

What’s the latest trend in make-up? Pop Art Eyes! Your peepers are set to sparkle thanks to a fun new range of rainbow products.

Need cheering up? Brush off the cobwebs and give your make-up a splash of serious colour just like the catwalks.

Yep, tribal vibes are in the air. Think red and orange, blue and emerald green and even a splash of yellow. Rainbow make-up is officially ‘in’ especially when it comes to jazzing up your eyes Gucci style.

So how do you re-create the look without looking like a clown? Follow these tips:

1. Apply a neutral base all over your eyelid.

2. Use a fine brush to apply a bright eyeshadow over your upper eyelid. Blend the colour with a brush or your fingertip, working outwards to the outer corner of the eye.

3. Next, sweep another bright shade (that contrasts with the first) across your lower lid and blend the two together slightly.

4. If you feel confident enough go for a third colour underneath your lid in a thin line.

5. Slick on a black mascara and nude lippie. It’s important to keep the rest of your makeup low-key. Your eyes are the statement.

6. You can pop a pale pink blush or illuminiser on your cheekbones.
