The avocado is the Barry White of the food world – smooth, sexy and, oh my darling, I can’t get enough of it.
Besides its inherent yum factor and versatile uses in just about any recipe, the humble avo is packed with more potassium than a banana, loaded with healthy heart-friendly fats and fiber and regularly chowing down on this creamy veggie has been shown to lower cholesterol, boost skin health and dramatically increase nutrient absorption.
As a vegan, I use smashed, velvety avo in place of sour cream dolloped on top of soups, smeared over crunchy sourdough instead of butter and draped over pizza in place of cheese. As a result, my cholesterol levels have never been better and my skin never glowier. And just when I thought the avocado couldn’t get any better, the avocado rose has just exploded onto the foodie scene, ensuring both your tum and your eyes are satisfied.
