How To Pack For Your Next Holiday

May 29, 2013

?Whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure, packing is never fun. SheSaid has come to the rescue to help you pack so you can focus on what’s really important – planning your trip and living it up!

Pack the bare minimal

Think back to your last holiday, I bet you only wore half the clothes you packed. The truth is that you don’t need to wear something different every day; your priority should be comfort and simple style. When choosing clothes to pack it is a good idea to stick to a neutral colour palette so that you can mix and match every item.

A handy hint when choosing items to pack: opt for clothing that is lightweight and compactable. And when in doubt think quality and not quantity.

Here is a formula that we like to use:

1 fleece jacket (if you need a big heavy coat, take it on the plane with you)

1 light-weight rain or wind jacket

1 cardigan or twin set

5-7 pairs of underwear and socks, remember the softer they are then the more luxurious they will feel

1 set of sleepwear (create a sense of pampering by packing your finest sleepwear

6-7 shirts/tops

4-5 shorts/skirts

1-2 pairs of pants including jeans

1 pair of swim wear (if it’s warm)

3 pairs of shoes – hiking, sandals/or ballet flats and a pair of dress shoes

Don’t forget to throw in a scarf to dress up an outfit

Accessories – 1 pair of sunglasses, one pair of earrings and a clutch

Multi-vitamins and a bottle of high grade vitamin C

Mini torch

Camera (or smartphone with built-in camera)

Smartphone with maps, music and books

A moleskin journal and pen – this will become your most treasured souvenir

Small light-weight bag, preferably across-the-body, to carry your jumper/cardigan, camera, guidebook, phone, wallet etc

Earplugs and eye mask

Your beauty tote (see below)
