Is this the new “Sex and the City”?
It’s true! Sarah Jessica Parker has found time amidst looking after her new twins to produce a new TV show for HBO that sounds a whole lot like “Sex and the City” (which ain’t a bad thing, right?)
“Prospect Park West”, a soon-to-be-released novel by former New York columnist Amy Sohn, is based on a group of friends living in Brooklyn who are dissatisfied with their roles as wives and mothers and are on a slippery slope to nervous breakdown-ville.
The characters are described as:
Lizzie: the lonely lesbian
Rebecca: the woman whose husband prefers being a Dad than being a lover (hello “Parent Trap”)
Karen: a shameless social-climber
Melora: the crazy Manhattanite
It sounds like a mix of “The Real Housewives of The O.C.” and “Desperate Housewives” and we can’t wait! Expect bitchy, witty banter and hilarious antics as these women try to stomp their three-inch heels all the way to the top of the social ladder.
Sohn is already working on the pilot episode so it could be on our screens sooner than you think. No word yet on whether SJP plans to star in it but maybe if we all shut out eyes and pray reallllly hard it will happen.
So what do you think? Is it destined to be a hit? Who should play the four main characters? For more info check out Amy’s Facebook.
