A Journalist Says Trump Called Her ‘A C**t’

Another story about another horrible thing Trump said to a woman.

Donald Trump has once again been called out for saying negative things about women.

Former Philadelphia Inquirer reporter, Jennifer Lin, recently spoke out about a 1988 incident, during which the presidential candidate called her on the phone and shouted abuse at her, branding her a “c**t”.

At the time, Lin had just written a story with the headline How a Curious Visitor Beat Trump at the Casino Game, which focused on casino stocks and dramas over ownership, in which Trump was a major player. In the article, the journalist suggested the business tycoon was offering to buy shares for less than they were worth.

After the story was published, she got a phone call from Trump’s secretary, telling her to “hold for Mr Trump.”.

“Then, Mr Trump began to yell at me. He told me I had shit for brains, he told me I worked for a shitty newspaper, and he said what kind of shit was I writing?” Lin told CNN in an interview this week.

The journalist went on to explain how Trump hung up on her and called her boss, where he continued his rant, calling Lin a c**t – which she told CNN is “the worst word in the English language to refer to a woman.” (BTW, we agree.)

After Lin’s boss questioned Trump on what his problem was with the story, Trump allegedly said he had not read the actual story and had only read the headline, then didn’t call back again.

When asked why Lin was telling her story now, 28 years after the abusive phone exchange, the former Philadelphia Inquirer reporter said her memory of the incident had been prompted by conversation with friends about Trump’s disparaging comments about women during the debate between Trump and Clinton last week, after which she decided to make a Facebook post sharing her experience, and was then contacted by a friend who asked her to write about what happened.

Sadly, this is definitely not the first time women have encountered disrespectful, sexist and misogynistic comments from the 70 year-old. Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado was called ‘Miss Piggy’ and ‘Miss Housekeeping’ by Trump, and he pretty much encouraged gun rights advocates to ‘take care’ of Hillary Clinton during a North Carolina rally in August.

With the presidential campaign coming to a head, it’s not entirely surprising more people are coming out of the woodworks to reveal their dealings with the Republican frontrunner, including a host of celebrities, who got together to shoot an anti-Trump video last month. And Trump is not looking good with each new story that comes to the surface…

Comment: What do you think about Trump’s comments about Lin? Should they be considered in the election?
