Kate Winslet says she’s learnt a lot about herself over the last few years, in particular between marriage numbers two and three.
“I’ve really learnt a great deal about myself, in the last four years in particular,” she reveals in the April issue of British Harper’s Bazaar.
I think I can see more clearly now – about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am, and the characters I have played – and I’m grateful for that.”
The experiences she’s referring to include her two previous marriages – to Jim Threapleton which ended in 2001, and to director Sam Mendes which ended in 2010. In December last year the 37-year-old Oscar winner married Ned Rocknroll, Richard Branson’s nephew.
“I have so much more material to draw on for work – rubble, bricks – and I know I can carry it now.
“I’m not going to drop it, and if I do, I’ll sift through it. Does that make any sense at all? Probably not…”
Don’t worry Kate, we think we understand.
Winslet and Rocknroll – yes, that’s his legal name – met while holidaying on Branson’s super luxe Caribbean island Necker in 2011.
