Luxe Or Less: Body Lotions

I have a confession to make: I don’t really like body lotion. Some are too greasy, some smell too strong…so which body lotion did I test and rate the best and now can’t stop using?

Winner – Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Lotion Range

Where have you been all my life! This is the ultimate body lotion and contains L-Bifidus which fights dryness – having used this every day for 2 weeks now my skin is definitely softer and more hydrated. There are five lotions with different ingredients that cover all skin needs: Aloe Vera for normal skin (I love this after too much time in the sun), Mango Oil for dry skin (my favourite), Cocoa Butter for dry rough skin, Honey for sensitive skin and Shea Butter for dry to extra dry skin (my other favourite). The scents are delicate and won’t clash with your perfume, and they all sink right in – that’s right, no greasy residue. The giant bottle lasts and lasts and the price can’t be beat.

RRP $6.95, 400ml. Available at supermarkets and pharmacies.

Notable Mentions:

Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Body Lotion

Putting aside all the brilliant charity work this company does, Organic Surge products are free of nasties and animal-derived ingredients, so you can feel good about what you use on your skin. The refreshing essential oil fragrance blend is not overpowering, and the formula, containing gorgeous almond oil, absorbs quickly into the skin. Great for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.

RRP$14.99, 200ml. Available at Coles, Priceline and pharmacies.

Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion

I love the Nivea Q10 range and the body lotion is no different. It instantly leaves skin feeling supple and firmer (it’s like a gym session in a bottle) while restoring deep hydration.

RRP $6.50, 250ml. Available at supermarkets and pharmacies.

Kiehl’s Creme de Corp Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter

This is a real treat, and I’d be dropping hints for this if your birthday is coming up. This cult body cream is a mega best-seller for good reason: it’s deeply hydrating, leaving skin with a glow (it’s a favourite of fashion show makeup artists who rub it into models’ skin before they hit the runway). The scent is truly divine.

RRP $67, 226g. Available at Mecca Cosmetica.

Clinique Turnaround Body Smoothing Cream

This is amazing, especially if you have any rough skin, scarring, or just neglected skin. Want to smooth out knees and elbows? Rub it in daily and you’ll notice a huge difference in just 2 weeks. Leaves skin radiant and slippery smooth.

RRP $52, 150ml. Available at Myer and David Jones.
