Have you ever wanted fuller looking lips without the extra price tag, or even the short-term commitment? Rather than turning to collagen injections or even fillers, many women are using good old makeup to create the illusion of larger lips. Here are just a few ways to alter the look of your lips, without going under the knife.
Purchase a lip liner which is close in colour to your natural skin shade, since this will be the best way to plump your lips. The trick is to slightly (yes, slightly) over-draw your lips on the sides and on the bottom.
We want this look to be natural as possible, so lightly draw a line that extends from your natural lips outwards. Then simply blend well with your finger or even a lip-brush.
Get those lips looking juicy by dabbing a touch of cinnamon just before you apply your lip products. The cinnamon should make your lips feel warm, and just after a few minutes they will appear slightly plumper than usual.
Then simply remove the product with a damp cloth, and apply your usual lip products such as liner, lipstick and even gloss to complete the look.
Apply a touch of highlighting powder on your cupids bow to give the illusion of full lips. The cupids bow is located just above your lips, in the little indentation which is found in the centre. Avoid using products which are yellow-based, since this look won’t appear natural and you might resemble a disco-ball!
This is where the sun should naturally hit your face, so it’s best to head outside with a compact mirror, ensuring you’ll apply the product in the correct place.
It might seem odd, but many women choose to contour their lips to make them plump and juicy. The secret is to apply a darker shade on the outer perimeters of your lips, then 1-2 shades lighter in the centre. Blend well to ensure that any harsh lines are disguised.
White lip liner
You can also try using white lip liner at the centre of your lips if you don’t have a lighter shade on hand. Concentrate the product on the centre of your lips, and blend well before applying a gloss.
Apply a light concealer or light coloured foundation on the outside of your lips, and blend well with your fingers. The heat from your fingers is better than using a brush, because it will push the product right into the skin and avoid dry spots from popping up.
The light concealer or foundation will help to highlight the area, creating the illusion of larger lips.
