Department store Target has partnered with luxe Italian fashion house Missoni to deliver its most ambitious designer collaboration to date. With over 220 products, ‘Missoni for Target’  is a complete lifestyle collection including clothing, homewares and outdoor furnishings.

After 14 months in the making, the range features Missoni’s distinctive colour combinations, bold geometric and wave patterns, as well as several exclusive prints.  And with prices as low as $10 to $169 we anticipate a website crash and possible in-store brawl to contend with once opened up to the public

But it will be worth it – I’ve had a peek at the collection and have my eye firmly fixed on several lifestyle items. In fact, I may walk away with a Missoni-themed home once I secure the square cushions, towels, bedding, pet bowl, baby feeding set on my list… And have I mentioned the deck chairs and beach umbrellas? Showcased yesterday in a temporary pop-up bar at Bondi Beach, you can purchase these funky furnishings for $99 each!


Buzz has been steadily generating since creative director Angela Missoni signed on to the project, with local celebrities including Sally Obermeder and Donny Galella supporting the collaboration.

“We thought Australia was the perfect setting for a collaboration,” said Angela Missoni – touching on a common love for nature, the sun and an ease of attitude shared with the Italians. She added she hoped whole families could enjoy the collection “there is something that everybody can have fun with.”

Given the huge commercial success of the previous Designers for Target lines and Missoni’s former collaboration with US Target (which crashed the website), Missoni for Target Australia is expected to sell out at record speed.
