More Oscars Goss

Chris Rock
Chris Rock is under fire from critics today after his disappointing effort at hosting the Oscars on Sunday night. His comments weren?t particularly witty or edgy and some of his remarks even prompted a rebuttal by Sean Penn over the talent of Jude Law. One of the more amusing segments was the early piece where he interviewed ?regular people? at a cinema complex. None of them had seen “Sideways,” “Finding Neverland,” “The Aviator” or other nominated films ? but all of them had loved “White Chicks.”

New Format
The new formatting was an interesting move. The nominees of the lesser prizes already on stage felt like they were lining up for a beauty pageant! Where were the tiaras and sashes we wonder?! The other change ? presenting from the audience also felt awkward and seemed to lessen the significance of the awards. I bet the front rowers weren?t even paying attention. Considering the ceremony still went 11 minutes over, we wonder was it worth the effort?

Gwyneth’s marriage to Chris Martin isn’t in trouble, despite him not turning up to the Oscars with her. Apparently her decision not to take her husband is in keeping with her bid to keep her private life private… Beyonce proved once and for all that she?s much more than a pop princess. The audience was blown away by her talented performances, particularly her singing in French… There is speculation in Hollywood that Orlando Bloom and Salma Hayek are dating!! The couple were reportedly holding hands at a post-Oscar party. “When Orlando whispered something into Salma’s ear, she just burst out laughing… there were a lot of giggles,” an onlooker reports.
