Nail Trends For Autumn/Winter

Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Polish

I’m obsessed with Rimmel nail polishes – they’re one of my favourite chemist buys and I always seem to pick up a new shade every week! The Maxi brush is idiot proof (you could paint your nails with your eyes closed!) and the staying power is incredible. My colour picks for autumn/winter are Velvet Rose, a luminous violet and Hot Gossip, the perfect winter red.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips Kit

Now this is a lot of fun! Decorated nail strips that easily apply and stick to your nails, and available in a stack of gorgeous designs, like Kitty Kitty (leopard print), Check It Out (houndstooth) and Skinny Jeans (blue denim). Each kit contains 16 nail polish strips, a cuticle stick, a mini file/buffer and instructions. Best of all they last up to 10 days – I’m thinking this will be a great stocking stuffer for hen’s parties or a girly weekend in.

RRP $14.95, available from Target, Kmart, chemists and department stores.

ORLY Birds of a Feather Limited Edition Collection

For the cooler months you want something deep and richly textured on your nails. I love the colours and finishes of ORLY’s limited edition collection Birds of a Feather, from the sparkly purple Fowl Play (great on toes) to jade green Lucky Duck and gunmetal shimmer Sea Gurl.

Available from June, $18.95 each. Buy online at

Cutex 2-in-1 Base Coat

This is great because instead of applying a separate base coat and treatment, this does the job of both. It helps your nail colour last longer, prevents your nails from staining while also preventing splitting and breakages.

RRP $7.50.
