Red Carpet Report: The 14th Annual Helpmann Awards

The freezing weather earlier this week failed to put a dampener on the Helpmann Awards red carpet, with plenty of knock out gowns gracing the show-biz crowd.

Danielle Cormack wowed as a strawberry blonde in her metallic hued Johanna Johnson dress. Her shorter curled hairstyle worked so well with the dramatic train and amber cocktail ring.

Erica Heynatz also looked great in gold. Her pretty silk dress is by Salvatore Ferragamo.

Legally Blonde’s Lucy Durack enjoyed showing off the gorgeous beaded detailing in her gown by Paolo Sebastian.

Sarah Murdoch went for a more understated look this year. She seems to be making a conscious effort to promote her position as Deputy Chair of the Australian Ballet. Note the chic sheer black ‘suit’ with tie alongside principal dancer Lucinda Dunn in show-stopping silver.

It wouldn’t be the Helpmann Awards without the presence of Australian theatre royalty Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin. Baz looked so dapper in his black suit alongside CM, who wore a custom ruffled Romance Was Born dress.

Stars of Strictly Ballroom Phoebe Panaretos and Thomas Lacey looked striking on the red carpet. Phoebe braved the cold in a sheer embellished Carla Zampatti dress.
