Horrifying Leaked Video Shows Trump Supporters Doing A Nazi Salute
Surely things have gone too far…
A leaked video of a conference from the white supremacist alt-right group, National Policy Institute, shows speaker Richard Spencer leading the audience in a Nazi salute and shouting “Hail Trump” and “Hail victory”, the English translation of the Nazi slogan, ‘Sieg Heil’.
The group, who describes itself as being “dedicated to the heritage, identity, and future of people of European descent in the United States, and around the world” held over 11 hours of speeches and discussions outlining its ideas for a new world this week.
The shocking clip, which was taken towards the end of the conference, after most of the press had left, shows Spencer chanting “Hail Trump! Hail our people! Hail victory!” as the crowd of around 200 supporters follow his lead, some giving standing ovations and cheering passionately. The speech included several anti-Semitic references, and referred to white people as “children of the sun”.
In his impassioned propaganda, Spencer condemns the media, referring to them as “Lügenpresse”, which is a German term for ‘lying press’ and was regularly used by the Nazi’s in discussions about their critics. He also called Trump’s victory a “victory of will” and said the only option for white people is to “conquer or die”. The group has been even more open and bold in spreading their message since the appointment of Steve Bannon to Trump’s cabinet, who is the former head of right-wing news outlet, Breitbart Media, and an open white supremacist.
Towards the end of the video, Spencer claims the media doubts the legitimacy of Trump and wants to fight against the existence of “white America”.
“America was – until this past generation – a white country, designed for ourselves and our posterity. It is our creation. It is our inheritance, and it belongs to us,” he says, while met by cheers and applause from the audience.
The Atlantic released the video on November 21, and since its release, Trump has denounced the group, saying he does not want or need their support. Spencer then claimed the salute was ironic, and that the group liked to do things which were “fun” and “a little bit cheeky”.
