Skinny Tea Sangria Recipe

September 30, 2014

Ever wanted to enjoy a glass (or two) of sangria without the extra guilt? This recipe is perfect if you want to hold back on the added calories without compromising on the genuine taste.

In this case we’re using white wine, but you can modify the recipe if you enjoy red wine or even a delicious rosé!

5 tsp loose leaf green tea

4 cups boiling water

1 bottle of dry white wine

3 cups assorted melon (watermelon, rockmelon and honeydew)

  1. Steep the tea leaves in boiling water for 1 minute, and thoroughly strain to avoid and overly bitter sangria.
  2. Wait for the tea to cool completely, then add wine and fruit pieces. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours, until chill.
  3. Since this recipe doesn’t include any artificial sugar, it’s important to note that the longer you leave the mixture in the fridge, the sweeter it will taste.
  4. Simply serve with some other fruits such as apple or even strawberry pieces!
