Spring Racing Fashion Forecast

This weeks’ Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day at Royal Randwick attracted a fun and fashion-forward crowd. Playing host to the NSW State Final of Myer Fashions on the Field, punters were dressed to impress in lots of bold hues and modern, body-con silhouettes.

Vogue’s Edwina McCann confirmed from the judging panel that this season, racing is “all about colour!”
Having fun with the trend, Zanita Whittington of Fashion Bloggers (left) wore multi-coloured floral ears by Nerida Winter.
Fashion Bloggers co-star Sara Donaldson (right) of harperandharley.com who wore a delicate lace fascinator with her Dion Lee dress offered another style tip, “Pick a hemline that is to the knee or just below. This will give you elegance – something that sadly is missing from race days in recent times,” she said.
The Winners of the Fashions on the Field final had all noticeably taken this on board, mixing up conservative lengths with fresh colour blocking and geometric detailing.
The well deserved winners who will share in a prize pool worth $100,000 are:
Myer Fashions on the Field winner Shavnna Dennett
First Runner Up Melissa Hann (pictured here with her Designer Johnny Schembri of By Johnny).
Second Runner Up Djanna Malnersic
And Millinery Award Winner Sally Morris.
I can’t wait to check out the competition when the National Best Dressed Winner is announced on Oaks Day!
