Stars Pay Tribute To Oprah On Her Last Show Ever

It really is the end of an era – Oprah has recorded her final ever show. After a two day finale featuring celebrity tributes, singing and dancing, she taped her final show today, to appear tomorrow in the US. In stark contrast to the all-star spectacular, the very last episode features Oprah in the studio on her own, thanking viewers, fans and guests for the love they have shown her over the last 25 years.

One of the most beautiful, heartfelt tributes came from Stedman Graham, Oprah’s partner of 25 years:

“It really amazes me that I got to be around a woman who changes people’s lives every day and who also takes her own lunch to work…I can’t believe that a coloured girl from the back woods of Mississippi has done all that you have done…I love you for making the difference in my life.”

Some of the celebrity tributes included:

“It’s no secret that millions of people are inspired by Oprah. I am one of those people … She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular..I have learned so much from her. She’s a self-made woman who’s been at the top of her game for over 25 years – and she’s still kicking ass, I vow to be more courageous and never give up…. Thank you for inspiring me.”

Tom Hanks

“Your show has turned surprise into an art form. You are surrounded by nothing but love.”

Maria Shriver

“(Oprah) has given me love, support, wisdom and most of all the truth. (I’m) not alone in receiving those gifts.”

“Oprah Winfrey, because of you, women have graduated to a new level of understanding… of who we can be. We can run the world!”

Will Smith

“Oprah said if this didn’t work out for her, she would have become a 4th grade teacher. You did become a teacher, with the whole world as your classroom.”
