Superstar Hair

Even at the Vanity Fair after party, Keira Knightley hair looks gorgeous
We all marvelled over the gorgeous dresses at the Oscars, but what about the hair! Relaxed, malleable do’s were definitely the style of the times, with the occasional dead straight style providing a bit of variation.

Cute and curly
Who was a favourite? Well we had to love Keira Knightley?s relaxed look. She teamed her one-shouldered gown by Vera Wang and dark smouldering eyes with a simple but classic hair-style of loose curls styled into a low ponytail and soft tendrils falling around her face. For hair as sexy as Keira?s curls try Remington Body Waves (RRP$53.95). The Body Waves come in three handy sizes and have a ready to use dot indicator so you know exactly when the setters are ready to use.

When using heated setters, scrunch hair first with a styling mousse such as Garnier Fructis Style XXL Volume Thickening Mousse (RRP$5.99) to prevent curls turning frizzy. Before removing the setters, spritz hair lightly with hair spray such as nu: hold hairspray (RRP$18.50) to help hold the curl. Always make sure the setters have completely cooled before removing to maximise the curl.

Sleek and straight
The sophisticated straight look was a favourite as well, with Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston and Queen Latifah all going for simple, yet gorgeous. Nic was glowing in her strapless white Balenciaga gown with all over appliqu? and was the cutting edge of sleek and modern sophistication. Get this look with the newly released Sunbeam Salon Technique? Wet to Dry Straightener with Ionic Technology (Slimline RRP$99.95). The ultra smooth, non-stick ceramic surface heats up instantly and glides over wet or dry hair with ease. This is the very first wet to dry straightener that also features ionic technology, which produces negative ions that speed drying time and minimise frizz.

Simply separate hair into segments and straighten from root to tip. To really ensure super straight hair, spray Tigi S-Factor Seriously Straight Straightener (RRP $37.60) and brush through with a large barrel brush. To get really glossy locks, spray on Affinage Reflector ($14.95), a lightweight, instant finishing spray. Hollywood here you come!

Keep it clean
Don?t forget, to get a gorgeous hair style you need your hair to be in good condition. Try the L’Occitane Olive Harvest Daily Shampoo & Conditioner (RRP $22.95 each). It?s light enough that you can use every day if you like but doesn?t leave your hair feeling dried out or even gluggy from too much product. Fresh yet unusual olive scent, with the conditioner with detangler in it a real plus.
