Instructions

1. If your hair has just been freshly washed, use a lightweight cream so you don’t suffer from any flyaways. This particular formula adds a hint of shine, and is perfect if you’re getting photographed. Concentrate the product into the ends of your hair, then blow-dry backwards.

2. Comb backwards and secure the hair into a bun at the nape of your neck. If your hair is particularly thin, section it off, take small pieces of hair and wrap them over each other. This gives the illusion of added volume without the use of extensions. Once hair is done, set it in place with some hair spray.

Bridal Bun Hairstyles

If you’re looking for a timeless hairstyle for your big day, look no further than a classic bun. Whether messy, sleek, up or down, buns never go out of fashion and are also convenient. It means you wont have your hair blowing in your face all day or getting stuck in your lipstick for that matter. Also, buns can be great for medium to long hair, or even short hair if you invest in a few extensions for the day. If not for you then consider buns for your bridesmaids.

Take some inspiration from these bun hairstyles:

Audrina Patridge pulls off this messy side bun so well and teamed with her diamond earrings, completes the look, perfect for a bride or bridesmaids.

If you prefer the sleek look then consider this side bun worn so well by Lauren Conrad. It’s the same idea as Audrina’s bun, just a little more sophisticated. If you’re having a garden or beach wedding then try this style with a flower pinned to the side.

Turn this messy but chic up-do bun into a bridal hairstyle by replacing the black headbands with bridal ones. Team with long drop earrings and a long veil and you have yourself a perfect look for your big day.

Get the Look: Kate Beckinsale’s Chic Updo Hairstyle

If you’ve got long hair and a fringe and you’re looking for some new hair up styles, take inspiration from Kate Beckinsale’s chic updo. It’s also one of our favourite romantic wedding hairstyles, especially paired with long earrings like Kate’s.

Schwarzkopf’s National Technical Educator Grant Withnell shows us how to recreate this pretty celebrity hairstyle at home in just a few easy steps.

1. Apply a tennis ball size of Schwarzkopf Push Up Volume Mousse to the hair and blow dry the hair to create volume.

2. Take a rectangular piece of hair that will become the fringe and secure this out of the way.

3. Pull the hair back loosely into a low ponytail and secure with a hair tie.

4. Grab the ponytail and put another hair tie halfway down the hair. This will create a pocket to now tuck the bottom section into the pocket, then pin to hold in place.

5. Let the fringe out and sweep across to the side and secure with pins if necessary.
