Competition-winner

Meet Our Latest Apple Watch Winner, Terry McKay

We caught up with our latest Apple Watch winner, Terry McKay (pictured), who is now the most “tech savvy” of the family thanks to his prize. After being recommended to enter the competition by one of his daughters, McKay now plans to use his smartwatch to its full capability and insists he is a “lucky guy”.

How did you find out about the competition?

One of my daughters told me about it and recommended I enter as (in her words) I am a lucky guy. How right she was!

After entering, did you tell your family and friends about the competition?

I told my family I had entered and suggested there was no need for [them] to enter as well, for I would win the watch.

What was going through your mind when you were signing up?

When I signed up, I was thinking: ‘Seriously, it would be nice to win such a device and be not only ahead of most people my age, but also my tech savvy children and grand-children.’

At any point did you hesitate?

Signing up was easy and it was interesting to say the least to then be made aware of the other opportunities available through the site.

We noticed that you’ve since signed up to receive offers from Hotels.com, have you received any exciting deals from them?

I have used the Hotels.com site before and monitor the numerous discount offers they put forward.

What are your thoughts about winning an Apple Watch and how do you intend to use it?

As to how I will use the Apple watch, I will study its features and use it to its full capacity, having already started researching its capabilities. My children and grand-children will be amazed!

Will you join another competition again after winning this amazing prize?

Most certainly having won this competition, I will enter others. I might even let you know which ones so you can let other subscribers know they are wasting their time competing… Just kidding!

Meet The Winner Of Our $15K Cash Competition

Our lucky winner of the $15,000 Crazy Cash competition, Cowley Tanoi from Auckland, spoke to SHESAID recently about his reaction to winning such a great prize, what he’ll be doing with his winnings and imparts some wisdom for fellow competition entrants.

How long have you been joining online competitions like this? I have been entering online competitions for 2 to 3 years. The thrill of “maybe winning” drives me to enter online competitions.

Is this your first time to win such competition? YES! This is the first time I have ever won a competition in my whole life. I have won lotto scratchies, but nothing compares to the amount won in this competition.

Did you have any doubts about winning at all? I doubted that I actually won this competition, yes. I second guessed myself because I couldn’t believe that I had won a competition with  prize money of $15,000.

What was your initial reaction when you found out that you won? At first, my heart raced a thousand miles a minute and I was in total shock. I couldn’t believe it.

What are your plans for your winnings? I’m thankful that I have won this competition so close to Christmas because it will take a lot of stress off my shoulders with presents and stuff for my kids and family. So, I plan to spoil them and pay off ALL my bills. Thank you very much for making that possible.

Would you continue joining competitions online? Definitely yes!

Any tips for competition entrants out there who haven’t won anything yet? My advice to other compers out there is “Keep entering competitions because you never know your luck. You have to be in it to win it”. Good luck!!!

Meet Our Nissan Micra Winner – Eugenie Buchan

We caught with our latest new car winner, Eugenie Buchan, as she zoomed around the streets in her new Nissan Micra. Despite it taking so long for her to come forward (she had no idea she’d won!), Eugenie is certainly making the most of her prize.

How did you find out you had won?

I actually accidentally entered the wrong email address when I initially entered the competition so I found out very late that I had won a car! A good samaritan found me at my place of work, called me and informed me that I had won the Micra.

How did you feel upon getting the confirmation that you were the winner?

Obviously I was very shocked and extremely excited because winning a car doesn’t happen very often and I was so surprised that it happened to me. I have to thank all the entrants who contacted me via Facebook or at work and told me about my win because otherwise I would never have claimed the prize or known I was the winner.

How many times did you enter? Are you a generally lucky person?

I only entered the competition once and never imagined that I would actually end up winning. It goes to show that people should really get involved with some of these competitions because it could happen to any of us. I’ve never won anything significant before, so I guess I was just having a seriously lucky week!

Did you already have a car? What’s the plan for you and the car?

Yes, I have a really great Ford Fiesta which I’ve had since I was 19 which I am really happy with. My family was pretty thrilled about the win and one my younger sisters has her license but not a car, so I think I may have potentially found a good home for the Micra.

What’s your advice to others entering competitions?

I know that most people see these competitions on Facebook, etc and assume that nothing will come of it but I would suggest that people enter some of these great competitions because everyone has a chance to win and you seriously never know! I didn’t place very much emphasis on entering the competition/didn’t think too much about it as I was doing it but I got an amazing prize so it has definitely changed my view on competitions and the likelihood of winning!
