Because you really, really deserve a vacay right about now.
It’s time to chuck out last season’s cosmetics and make room for a whole new makeup wardrobe!
SHE SAID is giving away every beauty addict’s (i.e. all of us) dream gift……….. a $5,000 Sephora Voucher! (queue gasp).
With its seemingly endless aisles full of makeup products, Sephora’s responsible for some massive holes burned in our credit cards on a regular basis. A store that knows exactly what makes women’s hearts beat faster – can we just move in?
See you in line!
Luke McDonnell got more than he bargained for when he tried to sell his car.
Because the future of female-kind is at stake.
Our lucky winner of the $15,000 Crazy Cash competition, Cowley Tanoi from Auckland, spoke to SHESAID recently about his reaction to winning such a great prize, what he’ll be doing with his winnings and imparts some wisdom for fellow competition entrants.
How long have you been joining online competitions like this? I have been entering online competitions for 2 to 3 years. The thrill of “maybe winning” drives me to enter online competitions.
Is this your first time to win such competition? YES! This is the first time I have ever won a competition in my whole life. I have won lotto scratchies, but nothing compares to the amount won in this competition.
Did you have any doubts about winning at all? I doubted that I actually won this competition, yes. I second guessed myself because I couldn’t believe that I had won a competition with prize money of $15,000.
What was your initial reaction when you found out that you won? At first, my heart raced a thousand miles a minute and I was in total shock. I couldn’t believe it.
What are your plans for your winnings? I’m thankful that I have won this competition so close to Christmas because it will take a lot of stress off my shoulders with presents and stuff for my kids and family. So, I plan to spoil them and pay off ALL my bills. Thank you very much for making that possible.
Would you continue joining competitions online? Definitely yes!
Any tips for competition entrants out there who haven’t won anything yet? My advice to other compers out there is “Keep entering competitions because you never know your luck. You have to be in it to win it”. Good luck!!!
As our days get busier, the art of homemaking is slowly being lost to other pursuits. While we become increasingly business savvy, our inner domestic goddess is quietly taking a back seat. But she will not be silenced anymore! The growing popularity of sites such as Pinterest, and homeheaven are evidence that women, regardless of their other worldly endeavours, will always have a passion for creating beautiful homes, and they’re now proudly showcasing these skills in new ways. To encourage this renewed sense of sharing practical homemaking knowledge and inspiration in the digital age; homeheaven is calling upon an unrivalled authority in tried, tested and true home-management techniques: our nans.
Chelsea Tromans, content producer for homeheaven, says:
“Grandmothers really are an untapped resource; they have so much knowledge and experience. We want to recognise Nans and share their knowledge with the country, so we can all learn from them. As a nation, we live in such a fast-paced world and lack many of the skills and much of the wisdom related to practical homemaking that our Nans possess.”
If you know a Nan who has a stack of mouth-watering secret recipes, knows countless cleaning tricks that save time and money, or has a garden that is the envy of her neighbourhood then let the world know (she doesn’t have to be your Nan, she may be a friend’s fabulous Nan, or perhaps your Mum has become a grandmother to your children and has imparted some great tips for managing family life) – this knowledgable Nan could be homeheaven’s first ever Super Nan! All you need to do is nominate her at homeheaven.com.au.
The nomination period will run until June 30, giving everyone the chance to nominate a Nan. After the nominations are in, readers will be given the chance to vote Australia’s most knowledgeable Nan (voting period open from 10am July 1 to 4pm July 14), with the top 10 Nans invited to become part of homeheaven’s expert panel. Individuals can vote for multiple Nan’s, but can only vote for each Nan once.
The number one nan will be crowned Australia’s most knowledgeable Nan on July 15. She will receive a luxury prize, including free house cleaning, a grocery shopping done for her, along with ‘a Night in with Nan’ package to enjoy with her nominator that includes a massage, manicure, dinner, a movie and snacks.
After the contest, the panel of nans will have the chance to share their pearls of wisdom with the homeheaven community as the site’s resident Nans in the Know.
I’m not a huge fan of at-home hair colour as a general rule. But I’ve found that as life gets increasingly busy and schedules are more and more packed, the luxury of time seems to slip away. And none more than the amount of time needed to pamper and preen. So, a little touch-up, that’s quick and easy, sometimes has to come between trips to the salon. That said, with Precision Foam Colour by John Frieda, the last thing anyone will be think when they see your hair is ‘there goes another at-home dye job’.
This is the first-ever premium permanent home hair colour that uses foam technology to deliver salon-quality results. Due to my naturally fair hair, I opted for the Extra Light Natural Blonde shade. And I’m not just tooting my own horn when I say the flawless, natural-looking results at home have never been quicker or easier.
The method? Easy peasy. Simply massage the foam into your hair to achieve coverage you thought you could only get from your fave stylist. Luckily, no drips, no stains and damage to my Jimmy Choos.
Want to win your own John Frieda Precision Home Colour pack? SHE’SAID’ is giving away 5 beautyheaven prize packs, valued at $1000 each. Click here to enter now!
Reality TV is plastic cheese slices. Over-packaged, numerous additives to make it healthy, but still slimy and not at all real.
It’s full of fat, avoid it, eventually it will make you look like a big, fat, couch potato (with heaps of cheese & sour cream!!!)
Reality TV is low-fat and fun because it allows you to be “Tempted” without “Big Brother” watching and you still Survive!!
stodgy and to avoid! I have enough problems of my own, with out watching other people lose their dignity by broadcasting theirs on national TV!
Reality TV is absolutely awesome. You get to see all the live crusty drama. Fantastic for all us in the closet voyeurs.
