Nobody rocks a crop top like Gigi.
Anybody who tells you it’s just for the gym is kidding themselves.
You gotta be in it to win it.
Due to the success of their first collection, July brings the second instalment of AG’s collaboration with British style icon, Alexa Chung.
Inspired by an imaginary and impeccably dressed girl-gang kicking up dust in the desert, the new collection boasts an expanded variety of separates in elevated materials, perfect for building the day-to-night wardrobe.
The collection boasts a large variety of graphic t-shirts and french-terry sweatshirts, which are ideal for fitted and slouchy silhouettes. Bottoms include the popular A-line denim skirt – a wardrobe staple (even for Alexa) – and a large variety of high-rise jeans in straight and skinny fits.
“It’s an evolution. The first collection was very focused and stripped back, I challenged myself to create an essential denim wardrobe. With the second collection it was more about exploring where else we could take it.”
Available at David Jones and selected premium boutiques.
If you’re looking for a solid winter staple, high waisted jeans are one of the best options for all body types. Not only are they so easy to find, but they come in various styles and washes to reflect your own personal style! Below are just a few different ways we love to style our high waisted jeans, what are yours?
A cropped sweater is an easy way to look stylish and warm during the winter season. You can even choose to layer a few additional pieces such as coats and scarves for the colder weather ahead.
Make like Kendall Jenner and style your favourite pair of high waisted jeans with a simple tan top. This look is effortless and with a pair of ankle boots, can take you from day to night.
You know what they say about stripes: they never go out of style! This classic look is comfy, cosy and is perfect for a casual get-together such as brunch and shopping with the girlfriends.
For those warmer days when the sun is shining, lose the layers in favour of a crisp duster coat. It’s the perfect casual piece since you can dress it down with sneakers, or up with a pair of stiletto heels.
Keep your feet looking warm and stylish this winter with a pair of ankle boots. A solid pair of leather boots is the best investment since they only look better with wear!
In the accessory department, accentuate your waist with a thick leather belt. This is perfect for keeping your jeans at a consistent level, or simply if you want to highlight your hourglass figure.

It’s the celebrities’ fashion crush of the moment: overalls. From Victoria’s Secret models to Hollywood actresses and singers, the humble blue denim overall has made it on to the radar of fashionistas. And who can blame them? Denim overalls are comfy and practical (unless you’re in the bathroom) and if styled correctly, they can be very glamourous in a trendy 70s kind of way.
The difference between overalls worn by factory workers as a protection garment and overalls worn as fashion statements is the cut. A well-tailored onesie will bring out curves you didn’t know you ever had.
Case in point: Taylor Swift who recently stepped out in a dark blue denim overall and made it look quite sexy. How did she do it? By choosing a skinny-leg overall which sits tight on your hips, but loose on your upper body. She combined the one-piece with a cropped white t-shirt baring a bit of skin around her waist.
Kate Bosworth sported a similarly fitted overall but opted for a flared leg and white tank top, giving her outfit more of a 70s vibe.
Model Lily Aldridge proved that overalls are comfortable when she wore her baby blue denim onesie on a flight to LA a few weeks ago. We love the long-sleeved white shirt she wore underneath – perfect for colder days.
For a more sporty, casual look, take a hint from the ever stylish Sarah Jessica Parker and wear a classic boyfriend-cut overall. To keep it from looking boring, make sure you cuff the legs and – if wearing a long-sleeved top – also roll up your sleeves.
So, if you love your jeans and denim in general (who doesn’t?), why not give overalls a go? The days of pulling up your pants are over.

Just because the winter weather is coming around, doesn’t mean you should be living in tights and tracksuits! Abrand presents a fresh, new way to stylishly wear your denim all year round. So, if you’re looking for a way to re-vamp your winter wardrobe, then this label could be just what you need.
Launched in 2013 by Melbourne based denim house Three by One, Abrand blends design with impeccable fits and superior quality to create a collection where originality meets timely style. The new winter collection titled Repent is all about the darkness which exists inside all of us – “the best sinners are those who repent. We celebrate that darkness, we are inspired by those who are truly black – the rebels, the fighters, the poets, the painters who use their darkness to create something great.”
As an independent brand, the label draws inspiration from these people and these values in their denim; traditionally the warp – which is the lengthwise top layer of vertical yarn – is dyed indigo, whilst the weft – the horizontal yarn – is dyed white. Abrand’s Repent range sinfully goes against tradition by dying the weft black, resulting in truer, darker colours.
Featuring a strong collection of classic denim pieces, you’re bound to find something which fits seamlessly into your wardrobe. So, here is a couple of our favourite picks:
High skinny jean, $99.95
This is the perfect pair of jeans since it sucks everything in, and can be worn from morning to night. A cosy turtleneck jumper and sneakers is best for the day, while something a little more sophisticated such as a blazer and heels works best for the evening.
Black coated jeans
Blade Runner, $129.95
For more of a serious look, why not try the coated style? It features a high rise skinny leg with a black wax finish and zippers on the ankles, meaning you can easily alter the length to suit your choice of footwear.
What are some of your favourite styles this winter?
If you want to spice up your outfit without embracing all the colours of the rainbow, then a touch of white denim is the perfect alternative. Not only is it super flattering for all body shapes, but it can be worn all year round and for all occasions. If you want to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe, take some inspiration from a few of our favourites below.
A pair of white, distressed denim is a wardrobe essential all women should have. Why? They are so quick and easy to style with trainers, flats, heels and boots for any type of occasion.
While this might be a flashback to your childhood, white overalls are actually back and bigger than ever. Cuff the hems and wear them with minimalism heels for a stylish look for dinner or casual cocktails.
If the weather is on the chilly side, finish off your outfit with an oversized coat to keep warm all day long. Not only is this the best way to go from work to afternoon drinks, but a pair of kitten heels completes the comfy outfit.
Replace that standard blue denim jacket in favour of a white version for spring. It frames your curves in all the right ways, and looks great all year-round.
Spice-up your wardrobe with a fun and fashionable white mini skirt. Work this trend with minimal heels and a white frayed top to complement the rest of your outfit.

From the runways of Paris to Milan, Chloé to Louis Vuitton and everything in between, the 1970s trend is back and bigger than ever with one versatile pieces – flared jeans.
Now we’re not suggesting you donate all of your skinny jeans, but flares are definitely enjoying their moment, again, and this is just how to wear them.
A classic white blouse is an effortless piece to take your outfit from day to night and even the other way around! Tuck it into the front of you flares for a ‘just rolled out of bed look’ or simply wear it untucked with your favourite fitted blazer.
Finish your look with a warm and cosy coat for those chilly days ahead. A beige shade like Maja’s below is a must-have for the season, and is so quick and easy to pull together before you have to head out the door.
Why not go all-out and pair your flared jeans with a flared top? Australian designer Ellery is responsible for bringing this style back in fashion, with big style influencers such as Christine Centenera following this trend.
A fitted, motorcycle jacket should be hanging in all of our wardrobes since it’s such a versatile piece for all seasons. This particular style looks amazing with flares because it is slightly cropped on the torso, and elongates the legs.
Make like model Karlie Kloss and show off your washboard abs with a cropped sweater. Maybe this style isn’t as practical for the winter weather, but it’s so comfy!
Layer up your outfit by wearing a printed dress over a pair of flared jeans. Not only is the look totally unique, but it helps to make your legs look super-long!

There is little known about Australian fashion designer, Georgia Alice, but her collection of clothes really speak for themselves.
The autumn/winter drop is all about easy dressing, regardless of where you need to go. Comfortable flare pants, loose shirts, and soft cotton jackets to pull an entire outfit together.
Already featured in Elle Australia, worn by Shine by Three blogger Margaret Zhang, and with a strong following on Instagram, the young label seems to be finding its place in contemporary Australian fashion.
Our must-have pieces for the autumn/winter season are all easy to wear, and look stylish but never too put-together.
1. Penelope coat
An easy to wear coat made from denim material with side pockets and tie. Featuring raw edges on the bottom hem and arm cuffs.
2. Marooned off-shoulder tee
Already one of Georgia Alice’s cult items is the off the shoulder tee which has been recreated from the success of the Utopia shirt. Featuring off the shoulder style with short sleeves. Made from a silk and cotton blend.
3. Father Yod blazer, cream stripe
A staple for the winter season has to be the double breasted blazer. Our favourite piece features gold buttons and a stripe material which is on trend, but similarly will never go out of style.
What’s your favourite piece from the collection?
Summer is an amazing time of the year – the long days, beach, sunshine and holidays, we all love it! But it’s not the best time for fashion, with most of us opting to slip into cut-off denims, swimwear, a pair of thongs, a maxi dress for night-time and an old cardigan when the chill picks up.
Well, take it back to basics and show your true style with a selection of relaxed dresses, cute slides and the accessories that every girl needs.

Overalls will be a great item to carry into fall. But how do you wear them without looking like a farmer? With overalls, many will preach the baggier, the better! However, it all depends on your body shape. If you look like a Victoria’s Secret model, it’s likely you’ll look stylish no matter what you wear.
However, most of us do not look like Heidi Klum and, for this reason, overalls are not the kind of item you want to buy online. A common issue with overalls is that they can be too tight on your bum and legs, but hang off you everywhere else. Therefore, it is important to find the right fit before you buy.
So, now you have your overalls, what do you wear under them? In the final days of summer, you might still be able to get away with just a cami or crop top, but you can never go wrong with a classic T-shirt. If you opt for a button-up shirt or sweater, keep it fitted to avoid looking too top heavy.
If you’re tired of old blue denim, try the monochrome look like Emma Watson.
As for footwear: dress up your overalls with heels, or hit the streets with sneakers, flats or sandals.

You either love it or hate it, but double denim is back and it’s not going away anytime soon. To avoid looking like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake circa 1999, abide by the following style tips to keep your look on-trend and fabulous – regardless of the event.
Choose a style that flatters your body shape, and keeps you looking youthful and fresh. Avoid clothes which are too big, too small and are just plain outdated. If you aren’t sure of your size, don’t buy an item of clothing from an online store. With double denim, its best to find a flattering fit which accentuates your body in a positive way.
Avoid Western accessories
It’s probably not a good idea to pair your double denim with cowboy boots, big buckled belts or even a cowboy hat (unless you’re attending a themed party, of course). Keep accessories muted, and incorporate a simplistic selection of shoes and bags which won’t take the focus from the denim.
While it’s easy to get carried away and incorporate a little bit of masculine dressing with this trend, try and keep a tailored silhouette. Stick to clothes which are more feminine and fitted, since this will prove to be a nice contrast with the double denim. A killer pair of heels or leather clutch will spice up any old outfit.
Keep to the same tone
Whatever your style may be, it is important to stick to the same tone of double denim. Otherwise, your outfit might end up looking outdated and clash far too much with the entire outfit. If you’re new to this trend, think about purchasing a chambray shirt which can be worked into your wardrobe with ease.
We recommend: Staple The Label Chambray Sheer Shirt, $71.96
Keep it simple
For this look to shine, keep the rest of your outfit toned down and minimalist in style. Use accessories and shoes to complement the double denim without overpowering or shifting away the focus. A faux glow also looks great with any shade of denim.

It’s that age-old denim debate, should you or should you not wash your jeans? Well, Levi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh has cleared that up for us. According to Bergh, you should never wash your jeans. Instead of washing your jeans, Bergh suggested, in an interview with Fortune magazine (below), to spot clean with a sponge or toothbrush and to air dry your denim.
By simply spot cleaning and refraining from throwing your jeans into the washing machine, they will last a lot longer.
What are your thoughts? Are you all for not washing your jeans or do you think it’s too unhygienic?
We couldn’t live without our favourite pair of jeans, and these 5 celebrities show us how to wear denim in style.
1. Kate Bosworth’s Skinny Jeans
Not many people can pull of double denim like Kate, but with a few tips, it’s a hot trend to try. Make sure your jeans and top are different shades of denim – Kate does it right by pairing dark skinny jeans with a light denim shirt. Keep your hair and makeup fresh and youthful – no big 80s hair or heavy makeup here. And don’t forget a killer pair of heels.

5. Alessandra Ambrosio’s Distressed Jeans

We all have that perfect pair of denim that we practically live in on a daily basis – but why not dress them up and get a few more looks out of them beyond the classic jeans and t-shirt outfit? Here are some handy tips from the fashion retailers at Melbourne’s Uni Hill Factory Outlets to help inspire you to do just that!
1. Black on black
A pair of black denim jeans can create a sophisticated look when teamed with a black cardigan or jacket. Team this with a white blouse or t-shirt for some contrast, or dress it up with a feature necklace or coloured scarf.
2. Add some height
3. Bold accessories
Whether it’s a bright necklace, a detailed belt or a big bright bag, these noticeable extras will give your classic jeans-and-t-shirt look a dressy spin. Adding some bold accessories is the easiest way to upgrade your everyday jeans and t-shirt look.
4. Sequins are your friends
You may be a little scared to try this look but a sequinned top or blazer is an excellent add-on to your denim jeans. Bit of a risk taker? Go for a bold coloured sequin blazer or jacket, or, if you want to stay on the safe side try a subtle sequinned cami to wear underneath your jacket.
5. Tie it together with a tall boot!
It’s a look we often envy on the off-duty supermodels, but don’t be afraid to try it out. You don’t have to be Claudia Schiffer to rock knee high leather boots with a pair of dark jeans in either a skinny or stovepipe leg. It’s an absolutely effortless look that oozes style – team with a t-shirt and blazer, or oversized turtleneck.

A lesson well learnt is the white shirt. No wardrobe should be without one or two or?anyway, the upshot is ? buy a crisp white shirt for winter. It will immediately give you a slick and tailored look. So, if you haven?t already done so, it?s time to hotfoot it to Witchery or Sportsgirl. The essential to end all essentials for your winter wardrobe and even better you can wear one with anything -jeans, pencil-thin trousers and cords.
Baby?s got Blue Jeans
It seems that denim is an endless experiment for fashionistas. Last winter you had to have a pair of indigo jeans, or you were stuffed. This summer you got bleached or else. Now it?s cowboy mid-blue. (Check out Sam Shephard?s Fool For Love if you really want to get the look!). Diesel are doing a great pair of
It?s back and they?re big! The Big Bag full crammed with everything (and well, anything) is back. It is the ultimate accessory for the busy girl. No longer do you have to fit your lipstick, purse, water bottle, diary, mobile and change of clothes for that after-work soir?e into a cute little sequined number. Oversized bags are the ?go? and it?s come as a relief to most bag ladies. We still loving Witchery?s saddlebag at www.witchery.com.au of course. Hurry though because their sale is on now!
The Black Boot
It was definitely the pointy boot last winter but this winter you should go for something more biker-style, a rounder toe and a bit flatter?and decidedly more flattering on those of us with long feet. Anything goes: up to the knee, over the knee, (think Ms Moss), or little ankle biters. Zomp have all the styles. For inquiries telephone (02) 9699 9566.
Frumpy is funky
Anything tweed is the look of the moment. The frumpier the better so dag up to be cool and get into it. If it?s good enough for our grandmother?s then? The top SheSaid tip? The classic trouser is the way to go. Team it with a snug, fitted polo-neck jumper to make it a little sassier. The look is strong, sassy and oh so very Hepburn – Katherine that is, not Audrey.
Tied up in Knits
We?ve all read the papers, we?ve seen back stage pics of the supermodels. The latest, coolest thing to do is get a hobby and knitting is the word. Knitting groups are hotter than trivia nights in pubs now (well it?s about time trivia got boring). Simple scarves are best to start with and the more eccentric the wool, the better. If you don?t have a granny that loves to knit, you better learn fast. Get some kindly Auntie to cast on then get going. Go to Spotlight for some of the best knitting patterns and wool. Telephone the Australian Country Spinners on 03 9853 9444 for more info.
The Chunky chunky belt
When is it going to end this never ending belt saga? The large, chunky, studded, weathered, leathered belt still looks great with a pair of jeans or a flouncy, layered skirt. The chunkier, the better. Just be sure to team it with the right boot.
The flouncy skirt
Portman?s or Witchery?s layered skirts look hot. Wear a white one with a black top and long boots. My crystal ball tells me that Gypsy chic is in your future…
Current must have
If you didn’t know already the only bag to sling this season is the Saddle. Hard to find unless you used to scouring through vintage shops and even then they are like finding a needle in a haystack. Girls! Thank goodness for Witchery. They have created the most divine shoulder bag in brown or black for $179.95. Keep the straps extra long so your bag is below your waist, (a-la Prada) or wear it securely tucked under your arm. Perfect for the plane, train or automobile. We recommend you hurry because there aren’t many left in the stores. Most of them would have left the country by now – they’re so purrrrfect. If you can’t get to a Witchery boutique just log onto www.witchery.com.au and enter the icon ‘shop’. It’s the kind of boutique you can’t leave without making a purchase.
Yes, your right we’ve probably said it all before but denim is the word. It’s the leading look for the minute. Trot into any store and you’ll see denim, denim, denim. Everyone from Cameron Diaz to Britney Spears is wearing it. One of our gossip mags had a pic of Meg Ryan wearing a denim trench, which looked fab. Want to know how to copy her look? Witchery. Witchery still have a few denim trenches (around $150) on offer so don’t panic just hurry. We’ve picked out our favourite denim pieces for you to find over the Internet so get on and check them out:
