Since we’re finally in the last leg of fashion week, what better time to talk about the beauty trends from the Milanese catwalks.
Showcasing a stark difference to London and New York, Milan actually embraced more colour, bronzed skin, and wearable fashion trends than the other fashion weeks.
Models at the house of Versace were treated to a smouldering statement eye which is sure to make your entire outfit pop.
While the rest of the face makeup was relatively toned down, black kohl was used to line the top and bottom waterline, not to mention the numerous lashings of mascara for a truly sultry look.
Don’t forget your brows, ladies! The look at Missoni was definitely all about the eyebrows, making them look full and sculpted with a bit of power.
Use a fine angled brush to create subtle hairlines, and brush upwards with a clear gel.
Where: Emilio Pucci
Matte lips were definitely trending this season, with models at Pucci sporting soft pink and corals.
Not only are they easy to apply (just dab onto your lips and you’re done), but they won’t leave an harsh lines after a long night of dinner and drinks.
Never too scared to shy away from making a statement, the models at Fendi were given a cat eye with a twist.
The wing was linked into an outline of a smokey eye, which took the place of a standard eyeshadow. Definitely a trend we’ll be trying once the colder weather hits – or simply if we don’t have an eyeshadow palette at hand!
Wow. If there is ever a time and place for dewy skin, then Gucci definitely nailed this look for their autumn/winter show.
Apply a sheer, lightweight tinted moisturiser, and allow your natural oils to shine through.
Where: Dolce and Gabbana
It’s become tradition that Dolce and Gabbana are known for their wine-stained lips, and this season didn’t disappoint. Apply your lip stain with a pencil, then dab off any excess with a tissue, no need to set with a gloss!

Every gal needs a good pair of boots to get her through those colder months. This fall, the boots – like the clothes – are wild. Sixties-mod styles dominate, but there is no shortage of quirkiness if you’re brave enough. Be inspired by these fall runway looks.
Knee-high and thigh-high boots
You can’t go wrong with a classic pair of knee-high boots, like Valentino‘s wide-legged, heels – perfect for both day and night occasions. However, we also love Alexander Wang‘s fresh, modern take on the style, with his low-heeled, tri-toned thigh-highs.
On-trend with the popular mod look, are these Lanvin (left) and Gucci (right) boots with square, block heels. Blue is a popular color this season, as is the tan leather.
Textures and prints
Snakeskin patterns and reptile textures are hot – just see Tom Ford and Gucci (left-right). However, Valentino is also making waves with his colorful retro-print ankle boots (pictured top).
Straps, buckles and laces
Adornments of all kinds were seen on the fall runway, but my personal favorites are the Isabel Marant stiletto boot, and Louis Vuitton‘s tan ankle boot with a patent finish.
Flat and casual
Calvin Klein showed a range of sporty sneaker-boots at his show, but the velvet-textured Doc Martin replicas are the street-friendly winner. Also loving Rick Owens‘ boots/tights/sneakers combo shoe.

This season is all about oversized everything, with bulky knits and wide-leg pants featuring prominently on catwalks and sidewalks alike. Bold prints, metallics and the occasional neon color pop are also on-trend, but for pieces that look great on everybody, try these versatile fall fashions.
This fall is all about sixties retro, particularly the return of the A-line skirt. Whether midi, mini, or in between – the a-line skirt can be dressed up or down. Be inspired by Louis Vuitton’s collection, celebrating warm colors and vintage prints. Gucci, on the other hand, prefers pretty pastels, paired with knee-high boots.
Look to Altazurra and Richard Chai Love for evidence of this trend. As the cold sets in, you will be eternally grateful for these bulky overcoats. Try with a turtleneck for extra warmth and style points.
If you’re not already fortunate enough to have this classic wardrobe staple, you should definitely invest in a pair this season. A basic brown or black leather boot is a must for any fall wardrobe. Pair with a mini skirt and turtleneck, a la Alexander Wang.
