How To Style Leopard Print

While leopard print may be a no-go zone especially if you’re into the monochrome look, it’s actually really easy to incorporate into your own personal style if you want to embrace prints. We’re not suggesting that you have to coordinate your entire outfit with your shoes, bag, and even nails – but just one statement piece is enough to safely embrace this trend.

If you’re still curious, here are just a few simple ways to wear leopard print and still keep your own style.

The best way to make your leopard print item pop is by pairing it with other basics. This look by Julia Restoin Roitfeld is perfect since all the other items are relatively subdued, and the dress is unique since it’s quite sheer.

A classic black, tailored blazer always brings a level of sophistication to a cheeky night-time ensemble.

Spice up your look by choosing a pair of statement sneakers to wear on a casual basis. Make sure the fit is amazing, and take into consideration whether you want to wear socks with them, or go sock-less! Wear with denim jeans or leather pants for a classic model off-duty vibe.

Nothing beats a summer sandal, and leopard print is just magical when paired with a fresh summer glow. Accessorise your nail polish to suit with your sandals (black and white is always a winner), and keep your heels silky-soft by regularly exfoliating.

Most Stylish Boots Of Fall 2014

Every gal needs a good pair of boots to get her through those colder months. This fall, the boots – like the clothes – are wild. Sixties-mod styles dominate, but there is no shortage of quirkiness if you’re brave enough. Be inspired by these fall runway looks.

Knee-high and thigh-high boots

You can’t go wrong with a classic pair of knee-high boots, like Valentino‘s wide-legged, heels – perfect for both day and night occasions. However, we also love Alexander Wang‘s fresh, modern take on the style, with his low-heeled, tri-toned thigh-highs.

Block heels

On-trend with the popular mod look, are these Lanvin (left) and Gucci (right) boots with square, block heels. Blue is a popular color this season, as is the tan leather. lanvin vogue - gucci

Textures and prints

Snakeskin patterns and reptile textures are hot – just see Tom Ford and Gucci (left-right). However, Valentino is also making waves with his colorful retro-print ankle boots (pictured top). - tom ford glamour gucci

Straps, buckles and laces

Adornments of all kinds were seen on the fall runway, but my personal favorites are the Isabel Marant stiletto boot, and Louis Vuitton‘s tan ankle boot with a patent finish. - isabel marant vogue louis vuitton

Flat and casual

Calvin Klein showed a range of sporty sneaker-boots at his show, but the velvet-textured Doc Martin replicas are the street-friendly winner. Also loving Rick Owens‘ boots/tights/sneakers combo shoe.

How To Style Kitten Heels

Kitten heels have always been associated with an older and mature generation of women who have seemingly retired their stiletto-heel obsession. Although, when designer Valentino Garavani unveiled the Rockstud kitten-heel just a few years ago, women of all ages had fallen head over heels for this trend.

Styling the kitten heel trend doesn’t have to be confusing – they are a trans-seasonal piece which look great paired with jeans, skirts or evening dresses. Kitten heels usually boast a short heel which is 3.5cm or shorter, depending on the shoe.

Taking inspiration from Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt, who always looks fabulous in kitten heels and a pair of jeans or trousers. This look mixes together high and low style which is ultimately easy to recreate at home. It is however, important to start off with a flattering pair of jeans since this acts as the foundation of the entire outfit.

Wear your kitten heels to the office and feel comfortable and stylish at the same time. Even momager, Kris Jenner nails this look by keeping to a sophisticated colour trend, and cuts which flatter her figure. If you want to make a large investment in these heels, choose a style and colour which will outlive any temporary trends. Wear with a pencil skirt, blouse and blazer for a simple look – perfect for the office.

Going on a dinner-date and not quite ready to break out the 6-inch stilettos? Channel the Olsen twins by wearing a pair of cropped trousers, oversized coat and kitten heels for a comfy look which still is appropriate for the occasion. Also, an oversized leather clutch-bag is absolutely necessary to complete the look!

Late drinks

Wear an eccentric pair of kitten heels with a monochrome outfit for a fun pop of colour. The kitten heels will no-doubt be the central focus of the entire outfit, so try to keep other accessories and clothes on the down-low. Stylist Geraldine Saglio regularly creates monochromatic outfits which still scream trendy – of course without trying too hard!
