Am I wrong in sensing just a hint of double standards here?
Popstars Madonna and Katy Perry are both known for being unexpected. When Katy Perry released her first hit single, I Kissed A Girl, in 2008 it shocked her family after being raised in a Christian household, but it caught the attention of millions of men and women around the world. Since then, she has continued to be a sex symbol.
Much like Madonna, who we all know to be controversial, contributing to her becoming one of the most influential cultural icons of our time. Her powerful songs and attitude have carried on since her first appearance to the music scene in 1982.
This month, they have joined together to show the world that age doesn’t matter when it comes to being sexy, it is confidence that’s the key. The two posed on the cover of V magazine for a bondage and S&M themed shoot.
In tight, lace and leather, with red lips and heels, the stars used rope to attach themselves to each other and show off their dominatrix flair. The collaboration seemed to go well, with Perry and Madonna stating they had a great experience.
Madonna is quoted as saying to Katy Perry:
“I really enjoyed working with you on the photo shoot. People always expect when two divas get together that there might be weird vibes or a strange competitiveness, but this was nice and easy and fun.”
Katy Perry, a lady who embraces the pin-up girl look, and Madonna, who played a pseudo-dominatrix for Complex in 2009, were right at home in this shoot. Yet, despite how the two looked, they both stressed it wasn’t as simple on the body as it seemed to be.
Perry described her experience to V Magazine:
“I was sore in my upper body and in my butt area from all that squatting.”
“It’s good to be sore in your butt. My neck is sore from that wonderful moment when I was sucking on your heel.”
I don’t think anyone can deny the stars look equally sexy, no matter their age.

Everybody loves children’s books!
Move over Madonna – Everybody Loves Raymond?s Ray Romano is encroaching on your publishing territory! The Emmy-winning star is writing a children’s book called Raymie, Dickie, and the Bean: Why I Love and Hate My Brothers which publishers are describing as “the funny and true story of why brothers can be gross, disgusting and downright mean ? but still love each other.” Romano?s first publishing venture will be co-written with his brothers Richard and Robert. “When my brothers and I weren’t fighting with each other, we had a lot of fun growing up,” says Romano. “Now it’s great as adults to collaborate with them on this book and fight with each other once again.” Let?s hope the children?s book is as funny as the award winning comedy Everybody loves Raymond.
Bitchy Spice?Mel C says Victoria Beckham‘s new music is “atrocious and weak” and says she should enjoy her family and “give music a rest”. The former Spice Girl, who has embarked on a turbulent solo career of her own, was not impressed with Mrs Beckham’s new double A-side single This Groove and Let Your Head Go. Mel reportedly said, in an interview with a UK radio station, that Let Your Head Go, an R&B track, was “terrible”. “I thought it was atrocious – I’m not being horrible, I’m just giving my opinion. I thought it was a terrible song. Lyrically it was weak.” Mel C also reckons she should spend more time playing the good wife and mother “If I was Victoria I would enjoy my husband, enjoy my family, enjoy the money that they’ve got and give the music a rest,” she said. ?She’s got such a great life – I don’t know why she doesn’t just sit back and enjoy it. But she’s very headstrong – she does exactly what she wants,” added Mel. Words of wisdom from someone who admires what Mrs Beckham has achieved, or sour grapes from someone who is envious of her fairytale life? Hmmm???
Orlando chills out in London ?Heart throb actor Orlando Bloom has revealed to UK magazine Now that he has bought a house in London and now all he wants for Christmas is some time off to relax. He has become a major Hollywood star (and major spunk!) since he appeared in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Pirates of the Caribbean with broody Johnny Depp. But Orlando says he’s been finding it hard to cope with the persistent press attention that goes with his movie success. “I’ve bought a place in London and I’m having my first break in a long time. I’m going to furnish it, get back to watching some movies and get myself sorted out,” he said. “At one point, I was tempted to squeeze in another film. But it would have been crazy to keep up that pace, so I’m going to try to relax and find the resources to come back. “I’m not complaining, but there hasn’t been a moment to pause and take stock. I feel as if I’ve been in a time warp from the age of 22 to 26.” Doesn?t sound like he will have too many problems finding women to help him relax with in his new London digs ? volunteers anyone??
