TGIF: Sour Green Apple Margarita Recipe

Who can deny a delicious margarita recipe? With the weekend just around the corner, indulge in a delicious sour-green apple margarita which is super easy to achieve.

If you don’t enjoy the taste of green apples, feel free to use some sweeter varieties instead.

30ml white tequila

30ml vodka

2 green apples (peeled and cored)

2 limes

30ml sugar syrup

4 tablespoons cloudy apple juice

1 green chilli (optional)

Ice cubes


  1. To make the syrup, bring 1/2 cup of sugar into a saucepan and bring it to a slow boil. Make sure all of the sugar has been boiled by continuously stirring the mixture together. Allow it to cool before preparing the rest of the cocktails.
  2. Place the chopped and cored apples into a food processor, with the juice of one lime. Mix well until you form a fine pulp, then transfer to a cocktail shaker.
  3. Now add the tequila, vodka, remaining lime juice, sugar syrup and ice into a cocktail shaker. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, simply use 2 glasses to finely shake the mixture.
  4. Pour into glasses and add 2-3 fine slices of chilli if you want your drink to have a little more body.

TGIF Chamomile Margarita Recipe

This Friday afternoon indulgence is perfect as a pick-me-up and calm-me-down all at the same time. Tea lovers will be especially fond of it!


4 chamomile tea bags

1 cup caster sugar

1 cup water

Juice of 1 lemon

1 ½ shots Tequila Blu

45ml chamomile simple syrup (mix of equal parts sugar and chamomile tea)

You will also need

½ cup salt (to rim glasses)

1 lemon cut into wedges (to garnish)


  1. To make chamomile simple syrup: Mix 1 part sugar and 1 part water in a saucepan over the stove to melt sugar. Once boiled, remove mixture from heat and add 4 chamomile tea bags. Leave these in for approx. 30 mins for tea to steep before refrigerating.
  2.  Rim cocktail glasses in salt by placing salt on a shallow plate, moistening the rim of each glass and dipping in salt.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until liquid is chilled. Strain into each glass, decorate with fresh lemon wedges and enjoy!

Ingredients: 4

Limeade, pineapple (cubed), Mexican beer, Gold tequila

Soak the pineapple and lime wedges in tequila and set for 1 hour or even overnight. This is perfect if you have a little time or your hands and would love to have a really strong flavour in the drink. Blend the fruit, remove the rind, and sprinkle with salt and chilli powder before serving.


Foaming Pineapple Cocktail

Ingredients: 4

White rum, coconut cream, frozen pineapple juice cubes

Bittercube Jamaican

Combine all of the ingredients and mix well until you have a thin consistency. Pour into a champagne glass and fill to the brim.


Pineapple Mojito

Ingredients: 5

Pineapple, mint leaves, sugar, white rum, club soda

Place the chopped pineapple, mint leaves and sugar into a cocktail shaker. Mix until it’s combined, then add the ice and lime juice.


Pineapple Margarita

Ingredients: 4

Tequila, Triple sec/Cointreau, pineapple juice, lime juice

Combine all of the liquids into a large pitcher, then stir to combine. Dip the rim of each glass into the salt, then serve with ice.

Watermelon-Jalapeño Margarita

Makes 1 jug


8 cups cubed watermelon

1 1/2 cups Tequila Blu

1/2 cup orange liqueur

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

1 cup simple syrup (mix of 1 cup sugar and one cup water)

1 to 2 jalapeno peppers, sliced thinly


Fresh jalapeno slices and watermelon wedges to garnish


  1. Puree watermelon in blender or food processor (you may have to do this in batches) then pour through a strainer. Discard pulp and seeds.
  2. Combine watermelon liquid, Tequila Blu and rest of ingredients in a large jug.
  3. Cover and chill for one hour (the longer you chill the mix the stronger the jalapeno flavour will be).
  4. Serve over ice.

1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice*

3 tbsp sugar (preferably a fine sugar like caster sugar)

8 shots premium tequila –we suggest Tequila Blu.

7 shots triple sec or orange liqueur

Garnish with freshly sliced orange.

*For a variation on this recipe substitute the orange juice with blood orange juice


  1. Create an orange syrup by combining orange juice and sugar in a saucepan and simmering on low heat until mixture forms a syrup. Allow to cool.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large jug and serve over ice.
  3. Alternatively, place enough liquid for one cocktail in a shaker with ice; shake and pour into a margarita glass.

Cucumber and Mint Margarita

Serves 2


1/2 cup chopped cucumber

⅓ cup Tequila Blu

2 tbsp sugar

1/4 lime juice

1/4 cup chopped mint

2 tbsp orange liqueur

6 ice cubes

Garnish with cucumber slices and a salted rim


  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender for one minute.
  2. Pour into two salt-rimmed glasses.
  3. Garnish with slices of fresh cucumber. You can add more ice if the mix is too thin and create a frozen margarita. Tasty!

Old Fashioned


1.5oz whiskey

1 sugar cube

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Splash of soda water

1 Maraschino cherry



Put ice in a tumbler, add ingredients, stir and garnish with an orange slice and/or a maraschino cherry.

Dry Martini


2.5oz gin

0.5oz dry vermouth

1-3 olives


If you like your martini like 007 – shaken, not stirred – shake the gin and vermouth in a cocktail shaker. Otherwise, just pour them into a martini glass and garnish with olives on a toothpick.

Bloody Mary


2oz vodka

4oz tomato juice

3-5 dashes of tabasco

2 dashes worcestershire sauce

1/2 lime (juice only)

1 celery stalk

Salt and pepper to taste


Put ice in a tall glass and vodka, tomato juice, worcestershire sauce, lime (or lemon) juice , and tobacco. Add salt and pepper as desired, and garnish with celery stalk.



2oz white tequila

1oz Cointreau

1oz lime juice


Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and serve in a cocktail glass with a salted rim.



1oz dry gin

1oz Campari

1oz sweet vermouth

1 orange


Serve straight up or on the rocks, with an orange slice or peel to garnish.
