Get The Look: Mary Kate Olsen’s Cat Eye

The Olsen twins are normally known for their quirky sense of style, and ability to wear almost anything and have it work for their tiny frames. This time, we’re looking towards Mary-Kate Olsen’s retro cat-eye which is a perfect makeup look for an evening out.

RELATED: 3 Easy Ways To Apply Winged Liner

1. Prep the skin by using a lightweight primer and foundation. If you’re heading out at night, skip the SPF since it will cause a white cast to appear on your face. Buff the foundation well into your skin by using a damp cosmetic sponge.

2. It’s time to conceal any blemishes and dark circles, so lightly dap the product with your fingers and blend it out. To contour under the eyes, use a concealer which is 1-2 shades lighter than your normal shade.

3. Prime the eyes by using a lightweight eye primer. Anything that is too heavy will make it a nightmare to keep your makeup in place.

4. Now it’s time to work on the eyeliner. Firstly, line the eye with a felt-tip liner since it’s the easiest tool for beginners.

For the flick, use an angled brush and dip lightly into a gel liner pot. Follow the line of of your bottom lashes, and carefully extend it outwards. Fix up any mistakes with a cotton tip dipped in makeup remover. It makes it so much easier to fix any un-even lines.

5. Fill in any gaps with a liquid liner since this formula is unlikely to wear away. Carefully dab over any parts of the eyes that need a little extra maintenance. Carry this in your handbag if you ever need to fix up your makeup throughout the evening.

New Season Hair Trends

Hairstylist to the stars Mark Townsend took some time out of his super-busy schedule to talk to SheSaid about the best on-trend hairstyles for autumn/winter this year and how we can all get that star-quality style:

What is your favourite hairstyle trend right now?

Full hair with a lot of volume and bouncy waves.

What do you recommend for keeping hair looking fresh when it comes to humidity?

I believe that frizz-free hair starts in the shower. I have seen such a dramatic difference in my clients’ hair since I started using Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo and Conditioner – it really nourishes the hair from the inside, leaving it super smooth.

Do you have any wacky beauty/hair tricks?

My favourite trick is to spray hairspray on a natural bristle toothbrush and then gently tame flyaways with it. This way you can make little touch-ups throughout the day without wrecking your entire hairstyle.

Is there a style icon you look to for inspiration?

I get really inspired by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. They have the most amazing style and they have been starting fashion and hair trends since they were teenagers. I always say that everything I know about hair texture, I learned from them.

Olsen, 27, and Sarkozy, 44, have been dating since 2012. The couple’s 17-year age difference (and height difference) have made them a hot topic for celebrity gossip.

This will be the French banker’s second marriage. He has two children – Julien, 12 and Margo, 10 – with former wife Charlotte Bernard. They divorced in 2011.

The twins must have a thing for older men: Ashley is dating Moneyball director Bennett Miller, 47.

What do you think of Mary-Kate and Olivier’s 17-year age difference?
