Beckham’s close shave worth $5 million bucks

Beckham’s close shave worth $5 million bucks

Beck’s close shave
Recent revelations about David Beckham from the ?Sleazy Senorita? and the Aussie callgirl obviously haven?t hurt the soccer stars marketablitity. The UK’s News of the World has now reported that Beckham has just landed a $5 million dollar deal with Gillette to star in a worldwide advertising campaign. A highly placed advertising source told them: “Gillette landed him before the scandal – but believe it’s done nothing to dent his marketability.” According to the leading UK tabloid newspaper, Beckham will appear in adverts around the world promoting razors and shaving foam after Euro 2004. The source added: “If anything, David is even more popular than ever.”
Can?t wait to see the spin on that campaign. See how using Gillette razors can help you escape a close shave with your wife? Do you think that has any thing to do with his new ?do? ? appearing with wife Victoria last week with his blonde locks shaved off?

We’re yet to see the end of Paris
One night in Paris
Just when you thought we had heard the last of this taudry little sex scandal, Paris Hilton‘s infamous home video of her having sex with former boyfriend Rick Salomon is going to be released in adult film stores. Red Light District Video, a suburban Los Angeles porn production company, said on Thursday it has acquired rights from Salomon to distribute the full 45-minute video under the title One Night in Paris. A spokeswoman for the company said the homemade tape, parts of which surfaced last year on Internet porn sites, will be released commercially in adult video stores on June 15. Ohh goody can?t wait for that one to hit our local Blockbuster store!

Michael Jackson, in court on Friday
Jackson sacks lawyers
Just days after being charged with child-molestation charges, Michael Jackson has sacked his two A-List lawyers Mark Geragos and Benjamin Brafman. He has replaced them with just one attorney, high-powered criminal lawyer Thomas Mesereau Jr. Published reports state the King of Pop tried to acquire Mesereau’s services previously, however the attorney wasn?t willing to divert his attention away from defending 1970?s TV star Robert Blake for the shooting death of his wife in 2001. In a statement released on Monday, Jackson said ?Let me make it clear, I have not replaced my defense team, I have replaced the lead attorneys?. According to Brafman, the decision was ?unavoidable under the circumstances? and “based on recent developments and discussions with various persons in the Jackson camp.” Jackson is expected to plead not guilty when he appears in court on Friday.

A not happy Britney Spears
Spears in tears
Britney Spears is making her way to London for the European part of her world tour, however her life apparently isn?t all roses. Earlier this year she was seen frolicking on the beach with her new man looking carefree and happy. All that has changed, however, with the release of new tabloid reports. Apparently her new man hasn?t been honest with her, omitting to tell her he has a wife and children at home. Britney was seen sobbing on the way to the airport before boarding the plane to London. According to reports, this tearful display is just another sign that Britney?s mental health is unstable. Her unhappy state is seen in her new video clip Everytime, which shows her overdosing on pills and slashed wrists. The suicide scenes had to be removed from the clip before its release due to the outcry in the US. There are also rumours the star is using prozac and binge boozing all in an attempt to overcome her depression.

Jacksons most foolish Americans of 2004

Jacksons most foolish Americans of 2004

The foolish Janet Jackson
In one of the best polls of the year so far, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson have been named the most foolish Americans of 2004 in a U.S. telephone survey. In the poll of 1,016 Americans carried out by New York-based public relations consultant Jeff Barge, 77 percent of respondents voted Michael Jackson to the top of the fool list. It’s the second year in a row that Michael has taken the April Fools Day award. He won the award last year after dangling his baby son over the balcony of a Berlin hotel. Of those who took part, 77% voted Michael Jackson to top the list, while his little sister was second with 70%. In January she was involved in controversy after baring her breast during the half-time show at the Super Bowl. “Obviously they are giving each other advice,” said Barge of the pop siblings. “And it’s not good advice.” In third place on Barge’s list was domestic diva Martha Stewart, who earlier this month was convicted of obstructing a federal inquiry into a suspicious stock sale, leaving her facing a likely prison sentence. Britney Spears was fourth in the poll with 69% of people saying her short-lived “marriage” to Jason Alexander in January was foolish. This is one poll stars would rather not rate on?

Almost a mum – Debra Messing
Messing in action?
Fans of Will and Grace will be sad to hear the news that Debra Messing has been ordered by her doctor to stay off her feet in her last months of pregnancy. The producers have had to write ?Grace? out of the last four episodes of the show, including the one-hour season finale. Messing’s spokeswoman said the eight-month-pregnant actress is doing “great,” but was told “to be careful and take it easy, preferably bed rest.” She added there were no complications with the pregnancy. Great to see an actress putting her and her baby?s health before the success of her show!

What a family…

Are Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are getting married?
Sydney?s very own Daily Telegraph hit the papers over the weekend all over the world for reportedly breaking the news that Hollywood star Demi Moore and her toyboy beau Ashton Kutcher‘s year-old romance is set to take a serious turn. Apparently, the couple has decided to get married. Even though the critics panned the relationship as a publicity stunt that wouldn?t last, it appears the pair is set to prove the critics wrong in this case. “Demi and Ashton’s marriage is a certainty. They are off and running now, trying to get things planned. They can’t wait to walk down the aisle, make their union official and spend the rest of their lives together,” a friend said. But wait there?s more – according to the paper, Moore wants ex-husband Bruce Willis to be best man! Are we all being punked here?

Spring bride Kate Beckinsdale
Spring wedding for Kate Beckinsdale
It looks like a springtime wedding for Pearl Harbor actress Kate Beckinsale and her director fianc?e Len Wiseman, who are apparently planning to tie the knot next month. The pair, who met when Len directed the stunning brunette in the 2003 vampire thriller Underworld, will reportedly exchanging rings in the US this May. Among guests will be the actress’ mum Judy Loe, who will attend with her second husband Roy Battersby, who like Len is also a filmmaker. Kate?s father actor Richard Beckinsdale died in 1979.
Also having a special role in the nuptials will be Kate’s daughter with former partner Michael Sheen, four-year-old Lily. “Lily is choosing her dress for my wedding,” said the future bride. “She’s getting a bit nervous? because she’s been given the job of throwing rose petals and is worried she won’t do it properly.” It looks to be a big year for Kate, who has two major films ? horror adventure Van Helsing, as well as The Aviator alongside Leo DiCaprio ? set for release in 2004.

Wanna go to Never Never Land?

Wanna go to Never Never Land?

Kooky star Michael Jackson will open up his carnival-style Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara, California to 500 guests for one day on September 13, 2003. The event will be strictly invitation-only but will include dinner, magicians, games and a tractor-trailer full of stuffed animal prizes plus the amusement park rides already on the property.

If you wanna try and score and invite Jackson’s publicist Stuart Backerman has stated that tickets for two people will cost almost $10,000 with $2,000 from each sale being divided among three charities. Those who will see a share of the ticket sales are the Make-A-Wish Foundation for sick children; Oneness, dedicated to erasing racism through art and music; and E Ai Como E Que Fica, a Rio de Janeiro group that provides food, clothing and medical care to impoverished children. The rest of the money will go to Jackson, apparently to pay for the cost of the party, Backerman said. Weird how just recently Jackson settled a major lawsuit against his previous financial advisors, in which the singer claimed he was in deep debt and near bankruptcy. Could this be a way for Wacko Jacko to raise some much need cashola?

Britney bares body, soul in Elle mag

Britney Spears tells British Elle magazine in its September issue that her breakup with groovy soulmeister Justin Timberlake has made her a better artist. She also says she hated seeing Timberlake talk about their relationship and that she’s actually quite shy. The 21-year-old pop tartlet says “I’ll always have feelings for Justin,” she says. “OK, not feelings for him, but he’ll always have a special place in my heart. “He was my first love after all. I think I got way too serious, way too young. It’s very healthy to not be in that relationship right now.” “Now I think, `Whoah, that would have been the biggest mistake of my life.’ Y’know?” Spears, who split with Timberlake in March 2002 after three years together, says it pained her to see him feature a look-alike of her in the video for his hit song Cry Me a River. “Freakin’ horrible. You know what I mean?” she says. “It was hard for me that he was so exploitative. Every interview that he did, he was just talking about us in such an open way and I just felt, ?Is nothing sacred anymore?’ It was weird. It was … disappointing.” Yeah, so exploitative! Guess that was before she decided to pash Madonnna at the MTV Awards the other night! Ewww!

Crowing about a boy!

The good news is that Russell ?Rusty? Crowe will finally have someone to pass on his smelly flannelette shirts to, teach guitar, take to the rugby league and drink beer with. The Oscar-winning actor couldn?t hold back the news when he performed with his band, Thirty Odd Foot Of Grunts, at a recent concert in Chicago, announcing that he and his sultry, songbird wife are expecting a boy! He warned the crowd that he had a secret to tell and just before the end of the show he revealed the news with three little words: “It’s a boy?. Hope Danielle was OK with Big Daddy Crowe telling the world while she was back at home in their $14 million dollar Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf apartment!
