Supermodel Miranda Kerr has the perfect base for almost any makeup look, with just one of our favourites including a deep-red lip stain. This trend is really easy to master (even for beginners), and lasts for hours even if you’re eating and drinking.
We share some of the best ways to apply your lip stain, and how to get Miranda’s trendy look this season.
Most lip stains are quite opaque, meaning they are packed with colour and rarely give you a natural, glossy look. Use a liquid lip stain to create a subtle pop of colour on both your cheeks and lips. The best way to apply this is with your fingers, and pat gently onto moisturised lips.
ModelCo Cheek and Lip Tint, $26
Just like liquid lip stains, crayons are easy to apply and give you a lot of control. Start by lining the lips, then colour the inside. Fix up any errors by dipping an cotton bud into a micellar water, and dabbing the surrounding area.
Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint in Lively, $30
If you want your lip stain to stay on for hours, then a stick is your best option. Use a lip brush to carefully fill in any gaps, and reach those difficult places. Make sure to moisturise and exfoliate your lips before using a dark shade, since these colours have the tendency to emphasise cracks and dry patches.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, $36
While the thought of applying a marker onto to your lips may feel rather unsettling at first, it’s one of the best ways to maintain a bright colour. Make sure to firstly line your lips, then dab the product from top to bottom. It will take just a few minutes for the first layer to dry, before applying a second for a deep glow.
3CE Lip Marker, $31
Keep your lips feeling hydrated by moisturising well before applying a lip stain. These formulas are known to be a little more harsh, and can disrupt the delicate nature of your skin. Add one coat, and wait for it to completely absorb before applying a lip stain over the top.
Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm, $19.95
If you’re not a fan of the matte look, use a clear gloss over the lip stain. Not only does this help to lock-in the colour, but will also create the illusion of luscious lips – just like Miranda!

If you want to keep hair out of your face, or simply are out of time when preparing for a night out, then definitely try the slicked-back look. Celebrity fans include supermodel Miranda Kerr, reality television star Olivia Palermo, and even one of our favourite actresses – Emma Watson.
This hairstyle can be worn for a variety of different events, and can also hide some third or fourth day hair (if you know what we mean). Follow these steps to achieve a flawless hairstyle which suits everyone’s face!
1. Give your hair a spritz with some texturising spray, then comb carefully from root to tip. Make sure to take particular care if you have any nasty knots at the nape of your neck – remove them by applying a bit of detangling spray.
2. Now part your hair in the middle, then comb the excess hair onto each side.
3. Taking an elastic, you can now gather your hair and tie into either a ponytail or bun at the nape of the neck. This depends on which hairstyle is better suited to the texture of your own hair. If you have layered hair, then definitely stick to a ponytail which will last longer.
4. Pin back any stray hairs, and comb through the roots to make sure there aren’t any bumps.
5. Accessorise with some fancy hair pieces if your outfit requires a little more oomph.

Have you always wanted the body of a Victoria’s Secret Angel, but never knew how to achieve it? The Angels are all known for their drop-dead gorgeous looks, but also their amazingly toned physiques which some might say were crafted by the gods themselves!
We share with you just a few workouts which are used by some of the Angels themselves, to create their much sought after physiques.
Angel: Behati Prinsloo
The Namibian native and VS Angel has been known to take part in swimming and water sports to maintain her naturally slender physique. Paddle boarding, surfing and swimming laps are just some of the ways she chooses to tone her body, apart from a few pilates classes throughout the week.
Angel: Miranda Kerr
With a workout routine mainly consisting of ballet and pilates, there’s no reason Miranda Kerr has an incredible body! Even though she’s usually working on a tight schedule, she regularly attends Ballet Beautiful classes in New York City, and follows the Blood Type Diet in order to stay healthy and keep at a consistent weight.
Angel: Candice Swanepoel
Not only does Candice Swanepoel love to box on a regular basis, but she also enjoys barre lessons which help to keep her entire body toned. The South African native also takes part in resistance training up to three times a week, which allows her diet to be a little more indulgent than the other angels.
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
Angel: Erin Heatherton
Rather than focusing on a particular part of her body to work on, Erin Heatherton takes part in HIIT which keeps the entire body toned and lean. While weight resistance one of her favourite workout routines, she does take part in pilates, yoga and running to keep fit and healthy.
Angel: Adriana Lima
After the birth of her second child, Adriana Lima enlisted the help of a trainer to help get her pre-baby body back. Her workout routine is similar to the other angels, and mostly consists of pilates and boxing training.

Forbes has released their annual list of the highest earning supermodels, can you guess who has topped the list?
1. Gisele Bundchen – $47 million
Earning more than five times the figure of other supermodels on the list, it is not surprise that Gisele has topped the list for eight years in a row! Over the past year Gisele has fronted campaigns for H&M, Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Pantene, and Oral-B, and also has her own footwear and lingerie lines.
2. Doutzen Kroes – $8 million
The Victoria’s Secret Angel is also the face of L’Oreal cosmetics, and has a line of cashmere sweaters. On top of earning $8 million last year, she also gave birth to her second child.
3. Adriana Lima – $8 million
Adriana is the longest-running Victoria’s Secret Angel, and no stranger to the rich list. Other endorsements include Desigual, Maybelline and Veet hair removal cream.
4. Kate Moss – $7 million
The veteran supermodel and pioneer of the waif-thin body type, 40-year-old Moss continues to front Rimmel London cosmetics and collaborate with Topshop. While her yearly earnings may total $7 million, we all know Kate’s total worth is more likely quadruple this figure.
5. Kate Upton – $7 million
At just 22, curvy Kate has featured on a record number of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers, and more recently signed to Bobbi Brown cosmetics. You may have also caught her alongside Cameron Diaz in her film debut, The Other Woman. This is Upton’s first year (first of many, we predict) on the list.
6. Miranda Kerr – $7 million
Since terminating her Victoria’s Secret contract and splitting from her husband Orlando Bloom, Kerr continues to bring in the bucks as the face of several brands including, H&M, Reebok, and Mango. Kerr also has her own beauty line, Kora Organics.
7. Liu Wen – $7 million
Wen was the first Chinese woman to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway, but also makes a lucrative sum from Estee Lauder, H&M, Calvin Klein, Coach and La Perla.
8. Alessandra Ambrosio – $5 million
Victoria’s Secret and H&M continue to make millionaire’s out of their models, with Ambrosio next on the list. At the age of 33, she also has two children and her own clothing line.
9. Hilary Rhoda – $5 million
Rhoda’s fortune is mostly due to a lucrative eight-year deal with Estee Lauder, but this American has also been involved with Toteme, Sarar, Helmut Lang, and… Victoria’s Secret.
10. Natalia Vodianova – $4 million
You may recognise this Russian beauty as the face of Calvin Klein Euphoria perfume, a role she has held since 2006. She has four children and will also appear in the infamous Pirelli Calendar in 2015, alongside fellow rich list member, Adriana Lima.
Carrie Bradshaw started it, now stars like Miranda Kerr, Rihanna, even Jennifer Lawrence are embracing the underwear as outerwear look. Corsets and crop tops are becoming the center-piece of red carpet looks, and having your bra peaking out the side of your singlet is the ultimate way to sex-up your street wear.
Leading lingerie brands are becoming increasingly risqué with the visibility of their racy and lacy products. Luxury brands like Agent Provocateur and Dita Von Teese, are designing their delicates to be seen, with criss-crossing straps and high-neck styles hitting the stores.
Agent Provocateur is famous for their Alina bra – a style that claims to “frame your cleavage” with its french-maid looking, tear-drop shaped straps.
If you’d like this boudoir look without breaking the bank, try Elle Macpherson Intimates, or the latest indie fave – Hopeless lingerie. For inspiration, look at these celebs rocking their underwear on the streets and the red carpet.

Unfortunately, we were not all born with Miranda Kerr‘s blessed bone structure. However, with the help of a quality blush, we can highlight those cheekbones and achieve the same angelic glow. To avoid the dreaded “clown-face”, follow these pointers for choosing and applying blush.
- The first step is choosing the right color for your skin tone. The pinker your skin, the pinker your blush should be. For olive and dark skin, use more peach, orange and red shades. The most important thing is to keep it subtle. Blush should look like natural, healthy color in your cheeks.
- When applying your makeup, blush should be the cherry on top – the very last thing you do.
- Your technique depends largely on your face shape. If you have a diamond, long or oval-shaped face, apply blush on top of your cheekbones. Owners of round or heart-shaped faces should apply just below the cheek bone. The aim is to highlight your angles!
- The best way to apply blush, using both a brush or a sponge for liquid or gel formulas, is to start from the apples of your cheeks, and blend upward along the cheekbone toward your ear. If applying along the top of your cheekbones, smile to help you find your way. To locate the underside of the cheekbones, suck in your cheeks.
- If using a brush, it should be larger than the tiny sample brushes you often find in blush packs, but not big and round like a face powder brush. This M.A.C blush brush 116 ($35) is a great example.

Miranda Kerr’s parents have revealed they haven’t seen their famous daughter in over a year.
In Tuesday’s docudrama Family Confidential on the ABC, Kerr’s mum Therese, father John, brother Matthew and grandmother Ann admitted they are now estranged from Kerr, and appealed for the supermodel to come back to Australia and visit with her son Flynn.
John reveals it was Orlando Bloom, not Miranda, that called him to tell him they were ending their three-year marriage.
“I remember him saying “we’re always going to be family” and that’s how we’ll treat Orlando, Miranda and Flynn. We’re all family.”
Her father says that he now wished his daughter had married a “nobody”, someone who was completely out of the limelight.
“After what I know now I would rather she did just marry a nobody because you really can’t get that family time by yourself,” he says. “I just hope Flynn grows up and he wants to be with his nan and pop.”
Kerr, 30, was especially close with Therese, who was CEO and general manager of her skincare line Kora Organics, but was asked to step down last February, and grandmother, posting a photo of the three of them in bed in December on her Instagram page.
“I miss the baby and I think he’s missing out on family, that closeness that we have always had,” said Ann.
“It’s very nice where they are but nothing like Australia, nothing, and I think hopefully Flynn might end up here. We just keep our fingers crossed.”
Therese speaks emotionally about having to “let go” of her daughter, and that she sends her text messages of love and support, which are not always reciprocated.
“What I have had to do is let go and allow her to be assertive and lead her own life and I guess for any mum that’s a little bit challenging sometimes to do that.”
“Miranda’s life is so different now (and) she’s surrounded by yes people all the time,” explained Therese.
John adds: “I wish she was just a normal, everyday girl, I really do.”
Kerr’s rep says she wasn’t able to be part of the show because of
Miranda Kerr has opened up about one of this year’s biggest celebrity gossip news stories: her split from husband Orlando Bloom.
“It’s difficult for anyone to go through a separation, whether it’s on a public scale or not,” she says in an interview in the latest Harper’s Bazaar Australia.
“It was important for us long-term to preserve our friendship and the dynamic of being loving parents to Flynn so we dealt with everything openly and honestly.
“We respect each other and with respect comes understanding. When there’s understanding, I guess everything is a little more harmonious,” she tells the magazine.
“We’re still very big parts of each other’s lives. There’s no reason for us to be anything but a united front. We still love and care for each other deeply.”
The 30-year-old supermodel revealed she won’t be making it to Australia this Christmas, choosing to stay in New York and look after son Flynn while Bloom stars in Romeo and Juliet six nights a week on Broadway.
“And it’s not fair to take Flynn and go without him. We’re trying to do our best to support each other.”
Since announcing their split in October, Kerr and Bloom have been photographed together a number of times, looking friendly and relaxed with each other.
“Flynn is the most important thing in both our lives. And because we share that bond, we both feel it’s important to be united.”

Therese Kerr (yep, Miranda’s mum!) is on a mission to get more Aussies to go organic. As an Australian Organic ambassador, she’s part of a campaign to educate Australians about how to purchase 100% honest organic products, and what certified organic really means.
The simple mission of the One Logo Says It All campaign is to spread the message that when purchasing organic products, look for a certification logo before buying. There are over 14,000 products on our shelves today that are classified certified organic. However, thousands more claim to be organic yet have not passed any testing or auditing.
SheSaid chats with Therese Kerr to find out why organic is so important to her, a sneak peak into her new organic skin care range and how she keeps calm and stress-free at Christmas.
Why is certified organic important to you?
Our body consists of trillions of cells, all needing nutrients to function effectively. We live in a highly processed, highly refined, high sugar-content world, so the food we are consuming, for the most part, is incapable of sustaining our bodies. To add further insult, we subject our bodies consistently to chemical cocktails not only in the foods we consume, but also in our homes, personal, hair and skin care products. We consume genetically modified food, eat food that is gas or artificially ripened or hormone injected and we wonder why dis-ease in every sense of the word is so apparent.
Our bodies are continually bombarded with free radicals and to combat this we need to consume and apply foods and products rich in nutrients and antioxidants. Our body even produces its own free radicals and our liver, because of all of the toxins in our world, is so overloaded trying to perform its vital role of detoxification that it can’t perform other vital roles, e.g. breaking down fat.
In saying all of that, I believe our body has the ability to heal itself. Our body is incredible, but it can’t heal itself if it lacks the nutrients to do so. That is why I only eat and use certified organic food and personal care, skin and hair care items and only use natural cleaning products in my home.
Health happens by choice, not by accident. Good health won’t just fall into your lap, in fact the opposite will be true and the key to living a long and healthy life, is education. When we educate ourselves we have the ability to make informed choices for our health and for the health of our family.
What role does eating certified organic play in your overall health and wellbeing?
It plays a huge role in my everyday life. In 2001/2002 I developed tumors in my spleen, which resulted in my spleen being removed. This was a wake up call and the start of my journey to wellness and the journey of sharing of my journey through my world of wellness. My family and I have always been healthy, and growing up in the country provided us access to the freshest of produce.
Unfortunately, like most people, I wasn’t fully aware of the dangers of the chemicals found in our everyday foods and beauty, skin and hair care products. I unknowingly used to lather myself in copious amounts of highly fragranced body wash, body lotion and perfume. Most people don’t realize that in the cosmetic industry alone (beauty, skin, personal and hair care products), according to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), there are over 10,500 chemicals found in our everyday products and only 13% of these over the last 30 years have been tested for safety. That’s alarming. My goal now is to educate people and I do this through my website. I have contributors from all natural modalities in health: Chiropractors, Kinesiologists, Nutritionists, Naturopaths, Acupuncturists and many others contribute to my website – all intent on sharing the message of wellness.
I am intent on creating a world of wellness and in my world of wellness, I take a holistic approach to health: physical, mental , emotional, and spiritual. Ever since my health scare, I have been a sponge for learning new information on everything health. When we give the body the nutrients it needs it impacts every part of our life and I even have a Psychologist who specialises in the link between diet and the functioning of the brain coming on line in the new year to share her knowledge with anyone who wishes to learn about health.
My site is about providing information on health such that people can take from the site whatever it is that serves them, leave what doesn’t and in the process, hopefully, above all else, have the ability to make informed choices as to their health.
I was the CEO of KORA Organics for three years. KORA Organics is Miranda’s certified organic skincare line. I stepped down from that position in January 2013 to further develop a personal care range and to expand on my own personal wellness journey. Our goal as a family is to bring total certified organic goodness to the world and while Miranda wanted to keep KORA Organics as a certified organic skin care brand, it was my goal to share a range of truly beautiful certified organic products with the world and hence I am releasing, in February 2014 a range of certified organic personal care products, under the name of Divine By Therese Kerr namely: deodorant, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, mouthwash, mouth spray, hand wash and hand lotion and in April hair care products will also be released. These products will compliment the KORA Organics range and eventually I will also bring out a baby range.
I also offer podcasts through my website for anyone interested in living a healthy life and will be adding podcasts from professionals in their fields from mid-January next year.
What are your favourite organic brands and products?
KORA Organics of course, which is my daughter’s Certified Organic skin care range. I am also releasing a line of my own: Divine by Therese Kerr, which will have certified organic personal and hair care products. This range will compliment the KORA Organics range offering even more certified organic goodness to the world.
Who and what inspires you?
Making a difference and contributing to other people’s lives, especially to the lives of young people is what inspires me most. You see, we are all incredibly unique, gifted human beings and sometimes we lose sight of that. Reminding people of that is what I love to do. Sometimes, people lose sight of how amazing they are and all it takes is for someone else to see the greatness in them and remind them of just how incredible they are. They then get the opportunity to discover it or rediscover it for themselves.
My family also inspires me; my son Matt, my daughter Miranda and my husband John. The people I work with and who share my passion for making a real difference and the people who are genuinely out there wanting to share this message of wellness inspire me daily. The manufacturers and growers of certified organic ingredients and produce inspire me because they are at the ground roots of an industry impacting and bringing about change to so many people’s lives and all of the people in the certified organic industry, without exception are doing what they do, I believe, because of their genuine intent to make a difference not only to people’s lives but to our planet. The generations that follow will benefit greatly from these innovators and they all inspire me, without a doubt, to be the best person I can be.
Sharing the world of wellness and seeing light bulb moments occur during one of my presentations or public speaking engagements inspires me, as does connecting to gorgeous souls during my presentations and via my website and social media sites. I love seeing young people especially take up this message of wellness and adopt it totally into their lives. Healthy can be and is simple. Healthy is also tasty and it can be reasonably priced if you know where and what to buy. I have heaps of beautiful healthy recipes on my website for you to take and use and soon will be adding products to my site such that it will become a one-stop wellness shop for all.
What are your best tips for a calm and stress-free Christmas?
Christmas is a busy time of year, but it is also a very special time of year where families come together to celebrate and create life-long memories. We often forget that while rushing around trying to make everything perfect.
My best tip is to just take time to be in the moment, to be present to the beauty of life and to those who you are blessed to share life with. If things are getting hectic or a little too much, take 10 – 15 minutes time out for yourself and meditate. I personally mediate for at least 20 minutes every single day as it allows me to shut out the world and to go deep within. This 20 minutes of a morning sets me up for an event filled, productive day where my body is transported (for the day) into parasympathetic nervous system state where it rests and digests and performs at its optimum. Most of us operate in Sympathetic Nervous System State where we are in fight or flight and Christmas especially with us trying to be everything to everyone and be here, there and everywhere constantly find ourselves in this state. Sadly, when we are in this state (and most of us are consistently due to our hectic lifestyles) our bodies cannot digest food or burn fat and we wonder why we are feeling lethargic and worn out. Time to meditate, eat healthy certified organic and use only healthy certified organic personal, skin and hair care products.
Miranda Kerr is Australia’s top searched celebrity of the year, according to search engine Bing.
The 30-year-old supermodel has taken the title for the third year running, largely due to her shock split from husband Orlando Bloom with pictures of them looking cosy in New York the same week all over celebrity gossip news websites and magazines.
Meanwhile the number one searched for person on Bing in Australia this year was Miley Cyrus, thanks to her infamous twerking with Robin Thicke at the VMAs. And twerking was so big that it was one of the most searched words of the year. It even made the Oxford Dictionary. Do you think we’ll still be talking about twerking this time next year?
The most ‘Binged’ news story of 2013 comes from the UK thanks to the birth of baby George, the heir to the throne, while the Boston bombings, NSW fires and more of Miley’s twerking kept us searching.
We were clicking-mad for Big Brother as the most searched TV show in Australia, with Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The X-Factor and The Voice all making the top 5.
Orlando Bloom has spoken about his shock split from Miranda Kerr, admitting that “life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for.”
In an interview with Katie Couric filmed today, Bloom said: “We love each other. We’re a family. We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives.
“There’s no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn.”
Bloom, 36, and Kerr, 30, have recently been spotted in New York looking very relaxed and happy just days after announcing their split on October 25th.
“Life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for,” The Hobbit star added. “But we’re adults, I’m 36 and now she’s 30. We’re professionals. We love and care about each other. Most of all, we love our son.”
In a statement released announcing the celebrity news that shook the world, the couple confirmed they have in fact been separated for months. The pair started dating in 2008 and married in 2010. Son Flynn was born in January 2011.
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have separated after three years of marriage.
“In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalise their separation,” the actor’s rep confirmed.
“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family,” the statement continued.
Bloom, 36, and Kerr, 30, quietly marriage in July 2010 after making their relationship public in 2008. Their son Flynn was born in January 2011.
What do you think of Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom splitting?
Miranda Kerr might be one of the most successful supermodels in the world, but she admits that models don’t have the confidence the public assumes they do.
“Models are some of the most insecure people I’ve ever met,” she reveals in an interview in the November issue of US Cosmopolitan.
“They’re constantly being told they’re not good enough. You’ve really got to practice loving yourself.”
Kerr, 30, has been modelling since she was 13, and dealt with her fair share of pressure. “There was so much rejection in the beginning.’
But now, as one of the highest-paid supermodels, mum to two-year-old son Flynn, wife to Orlando Bloom and running her own organic skincare brand KORA Organics, she says her “life is more balanced than ever.”
Kerr gushed about her hubbie, currently starring in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway: “For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week – I have so much respect for him.”
While the couple are often apart – she is currently in Paris for Paris Fashion Week, while he hits the stage in New York – she says when they are together that traditional husband-wife roles are very important to her.
“Let the man do some things for you, because if he cares for you, he will want to.” As for her, she likes to get into her “feminine role” by putting on sexy underwear and red lipstick.”
Kerr also pointed out that she’s not just a pretty face: “I’m a lot stronger than people think.
“I’m that person who says, no matter what the problem is, there’s a solution. That’s the way my brain is wired. If someone says to me, ‘Well, that’s not possible. It can’t happen,’ I say, ‘Yes it is. I’m going to sit here and show you that it can.’ I can take no for an answer and accept it – but if there’s a solution and I can make it work, why wouldn’t I?”
As for how she maintains her killer body, she explains that she adheres to a 80 per cent healthy and 20 per cent indulgent lifestyle.
“We’re human, it’s good to be able to have a little indulgence,” she said. “You do the best you can and make conscious decisions.”
What do you think about Miranda Kerr’s outlook on life?
