2. Take 1/2 inch subsections and wrap around a barrel curling iron, holding each piece for 5 seconds. Unwrap and still holding the hair, pull down from the end to relax the curl for a looser wave. Use JOICO Matte Grip throughout hair for a textured look.

3. Finish off with JOICO Humidity Blocker to hold the waves while eliminating frizz for a flawless red carpet look.

Naomi Watts on How She Picked Up Liev Schreiber

Naomi Watts has revealed how she picked up boyfriend Liev Schreiber – and it’s kind of dorky. We love it!

The adorable couple, who have been dating for eight years and have two sons – Alexander, six, and Samuel, four – were introduced in 2005 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala. And as soon as she set eyes on him, she planned to pick him up.

“It was a lot more ballsy than I would ever normally be,” the actress tells the November issue of Allure magazine. “Normally I want a guy to make the first move, and he wasn’t.

“Then he got up to say he was leaving and I was like, “Oh s***. Probably another couple years are going to pass by.” I was wildly attracted to him and his work, so I said something cheeky as he was about to walk out.

“I said, “Don’t you want my digits?” Because I couldn’t possibly say, “Would you like my phone number?” It made him laugh. He texted me five minutes later saying, “Would you like to go for a drink now?” And I said, “No, I’ll meet you for breakfast tomorrow.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Watts, 45, also spoke about her acting career, pointing out that she’s being offered better roles as she gets older.

“Women in their 40s have gone through quite a few different things, and so the roles are going to reflect that,” she said. “People say, “Oh, it’s done by 40,” and now everyone knows it’s not. I actually feel like the roles are a lot more interesting.”

Watts’ latest work, controversially, was playing the Princess of Wales in Diana, and she’ll next be seen in the all-star cast film Birdman.

Naomi Watts Opens Up About Diana

Naomi Watts was always anxious about the reception her new film Diana would receive – and rightly so. Weeks before the savaging critics bestowed on the film at the world premiere in London recently, Naomi hinted, “I might go into hiding. I might have to leave the country.”

She mightn’t have left the country but Watts did storm out of an interview with BBC radio presenter Simon Mayo when she became uncomfortable with his line of questioning regarding the film. Mayo tweeted “A first for me and @wittertainment as Naomi Watts walked out of an interview! She seemed a tad uncomfortable with the questions. Shame.”

The 44-year-old actress thought long and hard about taking on the role of the iconic late Princess of Wales. Watts knew the biopic, which focuses on Diana’s romance with London-based Pakistani surgeon Hasnat Khan, was always going to ruffle feathers.

Aside from the predictable onslaught from the UK press, Naomi had the Royal Family itself to consider, in particular Princes William and Harry.

Having lost a parent at a young age – Watts’ estranged father, sound engineer Peter Watts, died of a suspected heroin overdose when Naomi was 14 – and also being the mother of two sons Sacha, 6 and Sammy, 4, Naomi considered not taking on the role, wondering how the Princes would feel about it.

“That’s always the big thing in my mind, you know, would they approve?” said Naomi, in a recent interview.

In another interview, Watts said she “found herself constantly asking for (Diana’s) permission to carry on” in the film.

“I felt like I was spending a lot of time with her. There was one particular moment when I felt her permission was granted,” Naomi revealed in another interview.

Such is the obsession of all things Diana, Watts gained insight into the desperate lengths paparazzi would go to, simply to capture a precious, money-making snap of an actress playing a princess who died tragically 16 years ago, with her lover Dodi al-Fayed, when the Mercedes in which they were travelling slammed into a pillar in a Paris road tunnel, while being chased by paparazzi.

“It was definitely not normal.” Said Watts.

As one of the most famous women of our time, with every part of her life documented, scrutinised and watched, literally, under a media microscope, very little is known of Diana’s relationship with Hasnat Khan – a man who is described as her ‘real love’ by those close to the princess.

Khan has described the film as “completely wrong” and “based on gossip.”

Khan refused to participate in the making of the film, just as he avoided the media during his relationship with the princess and after her death.

Watts defended the scenes that take place between Diana and Khan.

“Someone was going to tell this story eventually. Liberties had to be taken and poetic licence. Actors bring nuance to it and, because it’s not a documentary, I think it was OK to do that.”

Diana opens in Australia on October 10.

What do you think of Naomi Watts playing Princess Diana? Will you be seeing Diana the movie?

It’s official, Naomi Watts has dumped Heath Ledger!

It’s official, Naomi Watts has dumped Heath Ledger!

Suddenly single Naomi
Aussie heart throb has been dumped Heath Ledger has been dumped by Oscar nominee girlfriend Naomi Watts. According to Star magazine, the blonde beauty recently told a friend that she and Ledger “have definitely, officially split up. The relationship is over.” The reason, it seems, has a lot to do with the 11 year age gap between the pair. Watts has reportedly told friends that “He doesn’t want to get married and have kids. He’s immature and unruly. He’s always out clubbing with his friends.” The 35 year old has also been turned off marriage after watching best friend Nicole Kidman go through a long divorce battle with Tom Cruise. It looks like Heath hasn’t taken long to move on though. He was recently seen making out with Winona Ryder, 32, at a party, according to an eyewitness. Watts apparently isn’t perturbed however, even going to far as to state, “He’s so immature it makes me look stupid for being with him”. Ouch.

Beautiful Jennifer Aniston
People names ’50 Most Beautiful’
Couples Rule this year in People magazine’s list of “The 50 Most Beautiful People in the World 2004,” with cover girl Jennifer Aniston and hubby Brad Pitt amongst them. Aniston tells the magazine “I was an unfortunate looking teenager,” and she went on to reveal “I never felt beautiful, ever.” The Friends star also says she and Pitt are “absolutely in the process” of trying to have a baby, which includes taking folic acid and setting aside a room in their new house for a possible nursery.

More beauty – Nick & Jessica
Reality TV stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey also made the list. As did those painfully successful American twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Another set of sisters, models Alexandra and Theodora Richards (the daughters of Rolling Stone Keith Richards) also made the list. Halle Berry is among the magazine’s beauties for the eighth time, tying Julia Roberts for the most appearances. While Australia?s own Nicole Kidman made her sixth appearance this year on the list, and fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman is on the list for the fourth year in a row. Go Aussies Go!

Victoria refuses to schmooze with Loos
Loos barred from Harrods
Also known as ?The Spanish Senorita? Rebecca Loos found out last week that the high life of glitz and glamour can have its downside when she was barred from attending a champagne reception by Harrods boss Mohamed al Fayed. The former PA, who claimed to have had a fling with David Beckham, was snubbed by the businessman who is a close friend of the England football captain and his wife Victoria. Loos, 26 had planned to attend the reception at Harrods but an hour before it started the world famous store called her PR adviser Max Clifford‘s office to say she would not be welcome. A Harrods spokesman, sid: “It’s part of the protocol always to give Mr al Fayed a list of VIPs at any party he’s attending. “Because of his close friendship with Victoria and David Beckham and their loyal and regular patronage of Harrods he asked us to contact Mr Clifford’s office and say we wouldn’t be able to welcome her to the party.” Oh how embarrassing! Sure it wasn’t Mr al Fayed trying to prevent a severe dip in sales if Posh and Becks stopped shopping at Harrods?
