Nigella Lawson Admits She Used Cocaine and Cannabis

Nigella Lawson has admitted to using cocaine and cannabis in a London court today in the fraud case against her two former personal assistants, but denies being a habitual drug user.

The domestic goddess, 53, testified that she had used cocaine “a handful of times”, revealing that she had used it when her late husband John Diamond was terminally ill with cancer.

She also confirmed she used it in 2010 while she was “subjected to intimate terrorism” by her now ex-husband Charles Saatchi.

The TV chef also admitted to smoking cannabis, including times in front of her children.

“The idea that I’m a drug addict or a habitual user of cocaine is absolutely ridiculous,” she said in court. “People who do that are a lot thinner than I am.”

The revelation came just a week after Saatchi claimed Lawson used cocaine, class B drugs and prescription drugs for more than a decade, which their former assistants used against the couple in order to defraud them of over $532,000 worth of designer goods, luxury hotels and first-class flights.

Lawson added: “I have to say, since freeing myself from a brilliant but brutal man, I’m now totally cannabis-, cocaine-, any drug-free.”

She also discussed the throat-grabbing incident in June which prompted their divorce. Lawson claims that she commented on how much she looked forward to having grandchildren, and in response, Saatchi grabbed her and said “I am the only person you should be concerned with. I am the only person that should give you pleasure.”

The trial continues on Thursday.

Nigella Lawson’s Divorce Finalised

Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi are officially divorced.

The end to their marriage was finalised in record time, with the hearing at the high court in London taking just 70 seconds. They would have celebrated their 10th anniversary in September.

Neither Saatchi, 70, nor Lawson, 53, were present at the hearing.

When the couple confirmed they would be getting a divorced earlier this month, they announced they would not be making any financial claims against each other. Lawson is worth around $15 million, while Saatchi is estimated at being worth $150 million.

The divorce comes just seven weeks after Saatchi was photographed with his hands around his wife’s neck at a London restaurant.

Nigella Lawson’s Divorce To Be Finalised End Of July

Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi’s divorce will be finalised by July 31st, just weeks after their public row in which Saatchi grabbed his wife by the throat at a London restaurant.

The couple have chosen a “swift and amicable” divorce, releasing a statement saying that neither will contest the divorce and “neither party will be making any financial claims against the other.”

Lawson is worth around $15 million, while Saatchi is estimated at being worth $150 million.

Last week, the art collector announced that he was filing for divorce because Lawson didn’t publicly defend him after the choking incident. Charming.

Lawson and Saatchi were married in September 2003.

Nigella Lawson’s Husband Is Divorcing Her

Can you believe this? Charles Saatchi is divorcing Nigella Lawson citing “disappointment” that she didn’t publicly defend him after he choked her in public!

“I am sorry to announce that Nigella Lawson and I are getting divorced,” Saatchi, 70, said in a statement to the UK’s The Mail newspaper.

“I feel that I have clearly been a disappointment to Nigella during the last year or so, and I am disappointed that she was advised to make no public comment to explain that I abhor violence of any kind against women, and have never abused her physically in any way.”

The divorce comes just months short of their 10 year wedding anniversary.

Shockingly, Saatchi alludes that the celebrity chef, 53, had also choked her husband in the past.

“This is heartbreaking for both of us as our love was very deep, but in the last year we have become estranged and drifted apart,” the statement continued. “The row photographed at Scott’s restaurant could equally have been Nigella grasping my neck to hold my attention – as indeed she has done in the past.”

Saatchi was interviewed by police for five hours after the 9 June incident, and received a caution, admitting his actions to police. He then famously shook the incident off as nothing more than a “playful tiff.”

What do you think about Charles Saatchi divorcing Nigella Lawson?

Nigella Lawson Moves Out Following Choking Incident

Nigella Lawson has taken her children – and her bags – and moved out of the London home she shares with husband Charles Saatchi, two weeks after photos showed him choking her in public.

A rep for Lawson has confirmed that she and her children have moved out and are currently staying at her sister’s in nearby Mayfair.

Movers were seen wheeling boxes labeled “Nigella” as well as cookware, toys and paintings away from the couple’s home in Chelsea. Lawson has also been seen not wearing her wedding ring.

The domestic goddess has not filed charges against her husband, although the advertising executive received a police caution from Scotland Yard.

Despite saying that putting his hands around Nigella’s throat was nothing more than a “playful tiff”, Saatchi later claimed: “even domestic goddesses sometimes have a bit of snot in their nose. I was trying to fish it out.”

Nigella’s Husband: Attack Nothing More Than “Playful Tiff”

Yesterday, we reported that Nigella Lawson was attacked by her husband Charles Saatchi while dining in central London, reaching over the table to grab her by the neck while she winced and cried.

Today, the advertising executive has made a statement to London’s Evening Standard newspaper, describing the incident merely as a “playful tiff.”

“We were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella’s neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasise my point,” he told the paper. “There was no grip, it was a playful tiff.”

We’re horrified to hear a man justify putting his hand around his wife’s neck as emphasising his point.

Nigella was seen leaving their home yesterday with luggage, and has not since returned.

“The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place,” he continued. “Nigella’s tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt. We had made up by the time we were home. The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled.”

Scotland Yard are examining the incident and the paper reports that Lawson has no immediate plans to return home.

The photo above was taken in December 2012 as the couple dined at the same restaurant.

What do you think? Was the incident just a “playful tiff” or should Nigella get out?

Nigella Lawson Attacked By Her Husband At London Restaurant

Nigella Lawson was apparently attacked by her husband Charles Saatchi while out to lunch at a well-known restaurant in London last weekend, leaving the domestic goddess in tears.

Photos taken by Britain’s Mirror newspaper show Saatchi, 70, grabbing the TV chef by the throat at Scott’s Restaurant in Mayfair, a popular haunt for celebrities in central London.

Witnesses say Lawson, 53, looked terrified after the violent argument and was dabbing her eyes with her napkin, speaking in a shaky voice. She then leaned over and kissed his cheek, before the millionaire advertising executive got up and left the restaurant alone.

Lawson then downed her glass of wine and left the restaurant in tears, jumping into an awaiting taxi.

She has previously spoken about their relationships, admitting to fiery arguments and describing her husband as “an exploder.

“I’ll go quiet when he explodes,” she said in 2007, “and then I am a nest of horrible festeringness.”

The couple are due to celebrate their 10th anniversary in September.
