Miranda Kerr has opened up about one of this year’s biggest celebrity gossip news stories: her split from husband Orlando Bloom.
“It’s difficult for anyone to go through a separation, whether it’s on a public scale or not,” she says in an interview in the latest Harper’s Bazaar Australia.
“It was important for us long-term to preserve our friendship and the dynamic of being loving parents to Flynn so we dealt with everything openly and honestly.
“We respect each other and with respect comes understanding. When there’s understanding, I guess everything is a little more harmonious,” she tells the magazine.
“We’re still very big parts of each other’s lives. There’s no reason for us to be anything but a united front. We still love and care for each other deeply.”
The 30-year-old supermodel revealed she won’t be making it to Australia this Christmas, choosing to stay in New York and look after son Flynn while Bloom stars in Romeo and Juliet six nights a week on Broadway.
“And it’s not fair to take Flynn and go without him. We’re trying to do our best to support each other.”
Since announcing their split in October, Kerr and Bloom have been photographed together a number of times, looking friendly and relaxed with each other.
“Flynn is the most important thing in both our lives. And because we share that bond, we both feel it’s important to be united.”

Orlando Bloom has spoken about his shock split from Miranda Kerr, admitting that “life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for.”
In an interview with Katie Couric filmed today, Bloom said: “We love each other. We’re a family. We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives.
“There’s no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn.”
Bloom, 36, and Kerr, 30, have recently been spotted in New York looking very relaxed and happy just days after announcing their split on October 25th.
“Life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for,” The Hobbit star added. “But we’re adults, I’m 36 and now she’s 30. We’re professionals. We love and care about each other. Most of all, we love our son.”
In a statement released announcing the celebrity news that shook the world, the couple confirmed they have in fact been separated for months. The pair started dating in 2008 and married in 2010. Son Flynn was born in January 2011.

What do you think of Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom splitting?
Miranda Kerr might be one of the most successful supermodels in the world, but she admits that models don’t have the confidence the public assumes they do.
“Models are some of the most insecure people I’ve ever met,” she reveals in an interview in the November issue of US Cosmopolitan.
“They’re constantly being told they’re not good enough. You’ve really got to practice loving yourself.”
Kerr, 30, has been modelling since she was 13, and dealt with her fair share of pressure. “There was so much rejection in the beginning.’
But now, as one of the highest-paid supermodels, mum to two-year-old son Flynn, wife to Orlando Bloom and running her own organic skincare brand KORA Organics, she says her “life is more balanced than ever.”
Kerr gushed about her hubbie, currently starring in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway: “For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week – I have so much respect for him.”
While the couple are often apart – she is currently in Paris for Paris Fashion Week, while he hits the stage in New York – she says when they are together that traditional husband-wife roles are very important to her.
“Let the man do some things for you, because if he cares for you, he will want to.” As for her, she likes to get into her “feminine role” by putting on sexy underwear and red lipstick.”
Kerr also pointed out that she’s not just a pretty face: “I’m a lot stronger than people think.
“I’m that person who says, no matter what the problem is, there’s a solution. That’s the way my brain is wired. If someone says to me, ‘Well, that’s not possible. It can’t happen,’ I say, ‘Yes it is. I’m going to sit here and show you that it can.’ I can take no for an answer and accept it – but if there’s a solution and I can make it work, why wouldn’t I?”
As for how she maintains her killer body, she explains that she adheres to a 80 per cent healthy and 20 per cent indulgent lifestyle.
“We’re human, it’s good to be able to have a little indulgence,” she said. “You do the best you can and make conscious decisions.”
What do you think about Miranda Kerr’s outlook on life?
Kate Bosworth has tied the knot with film director Michael Polish in an intimate ceremony in Montana.
The couple married in front of a small group of family and friends at The Ranch at Rock Creek. Guests were given Polaroid cameras and asked to post pictures on a board that said ‘Love is…’ in the lodge (love this idea!). Just recently Bosworth kept details of the nuptials to a minimum, except to reveal the wedding is “not the norm and whisky will be involved.”
The Superman Returns actress, 30, met Polish, 42, when he directed her in the 2011 movie Big Sur. He proposed to her a year later during a trip to South Korea.
“I never even dated my husband-to-be,” Bosworth told the September issue of InStyle UK. “He said to me after just a few weeks before we were even together, ‘I’m going to marry you.’ He just knew.”
Bosworth previously dated actors Alexander Skarsgard and Orlando Bloom. This is the second marriage for Polish, who has a teenage daughter, Jasper, with make-up artist Jo Strettell. They divorced in 2004.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
Wedding bells for Brittany Murphy
Actress Brittany Murphy, 26, and talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz 34, became engaged last week at a silent movie theater in Los Angeles, according to People magazine. The groovy couple started dating after Murphy’s breakup with Ashton Kutcher, her co-star in last years Just Married. Some critics claimed the Kutcher-Murphy union was just a publicity stunt to raise awareness for what is universally acknowledged as a very average movie. One question – if they were at a silent movie theatre – how did he know she said yes?
Robbie wants to settle down
Believe it or not, Robbie Williams is still telling anyone who will listen that he wants to settle down and have a family. He’s even gone so far as to swears his bad boy days are truly over! In an interview with Croatian magazine Story, Robbie claimed he had turned his back on one night stands and was looking for that special woman. He said: “My life is back to normal and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I’ve realised that life is beautiful and fate has been very kind to me. “I am sure a lot of people will be surprised I am not supposedly having a string of affairs, but it’s true and I’m happier because of it.” He added that his lack of interest in having a succession of lovers and his search for a long-term partner was part of the reason he had lost interest in life in Los Angeles. The notorious wild man of music said: “LA is a city obsessed with sex. However, that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m in a phase of my life where I want to find a woman that I’d be happy with for longer. I’m looking for the woman of my life.” Pick me, pick me!
Mini-Me for Robbie?
Robbie went on to reveal he also wants kids and had accepted that when it happened his life would change forever. He said: “When I get kids I’ll leave Beverly Hills the moment it happens. It’s easy to see why, because all the kids that grow up there are unhappy. They simply experience too much in first decade of their lives. You never see a kid riding a bike in Beverly Hills.” To be precise, Robbie said he would like to have two kids, and added: “It doesn’t matter whether they are boys or girls, I only know that the name of my first child will be Sunny. We will live in England and most probably have a place in a countryside rather than the city.” Talk about forward planning Robbie! Plenty of Aussie chicks would no doubt be lining up for the job as Mrs Robbie Williams! But do leopards really change their spots?
Bloomin’ Orlando’s off the shelf
Lord Of The Rings heartthrob Orlando Bloom has always steered clear of discussing his love life, but the hunky actor has just admitted he’s in love. In case you are wondering who the object of his affection is, it is none other than the blonde babe from the teen surfer movie Blue Crush, 21 year-old actress Kate Bosworth. Orlando, who celebrated his 27th birthday this week, spent a romantic Christmas break with the surfer babydoll, after which he told an interviewer, “I’m in love with love. It’s heavenly when you’re falling for someone and you can’t stop thinking about her.” Gorgeous all round is our Orlando!
Everybody loves children’s books!
Move over Madonna – Everybody Loves Raymond?s Ray Romano is encroaching on your publishing territory! The Emmy-winning star is writing a children’s book called Raymie, Dickie, and the Bean: Why I Love and Hate My Brothers which publishers are describing as “the funny and true story of why brothers can be gross, disgusting and downright mean ? but still love each other.” Romano?s first publishing venture will be co-written with his brothers Richard and Robert. “When my brothers and I weren’t fighting with each other, we had a lot of fun growing up,” says Romano. “Now it’s great as adults to collaborate with them on this book and fight with each other once again.” Let?s hope the children?s book is as funny as the award winning comedy Everybody loves Raymond.
Bitchy Spice?Mel C says Victoria Beckham‘s new music is “atrocious and weak” and says she should enjoy her family and “give music a rest”. The former Spice Girl, who has embarked on a turbulent solo career of her own, was not impressed with Mrs Beckham’s new double A-side single This Groove and Let Your Head Go. Mel reportedly said, in an interview with a UK radio station, that Let Your Head Go, an R&B track, was “terrible”. “I thought it was atrocious – I’m not being horrible, I’m just giving my opinion. I thought it was a terrible song. Lyrically it was weak.” Mel C also reckons she should spend more time playing the good wife and mother “If I was Victoria I would enjoy my husband, enjoy my family, enjoy the money that they’ve got and give the music a rest,” she said. ?She’s got such a great life – I don’t know why she doesn’t just sit back and enjoy it. But she’s very headstrong – she does exactly what she wants,” added Mel. Words of wisdom from someone who admires what Mrs Beckham has achieved, or sour grapes from someone who is envious of her fairytale life? Hmmm???
Orlando chills out in London ?Heart throb actor Orlando Bloom has revealed to UK magazine Now that he has bought a house in London and now all he wants for Christmas is some time off to relax. He has become a major Hollywood star (and major spunk!) since he appeared in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Pirates of the Caribbean with broody Johnny Depp. But Orlando says he’s been finding it hard to cope with the persistent press attention that goes with his movie success. “I’ve bought a place in London and I’m having my first break in a long time. I’m going to furnish it, get back to watching some movies and get myself sorted out,” he said. “At one point, I was tempted to squeeze in another film. But it would have been crazy to keep up that pace, so I’m going to try to relax and find the resources to come back. “I’m not complaining, but there hasn’t been a moment to pause and take stock. I feel as if I’ve been in a time warp from the age of 22 to 26.” Doesn?t sound like he will have too many problems finding women to help him relax with in his new London digs ? volunteers anyone??
