Travolta regrets missing Chicago
Star of Saturday Night Fever, actor John Travolta says he seriously regrets turning down a starring role in the Academy Award-winning musical Chicago. Travolta hasn?t danced his way through a movie for many years but he still says “I’m still angry with myself that I turned down the role of the lawyer in Chicago that Richard Gere then got,” Travolta said in Bunte magazine. The 49-year-old actor who wooed women all over the globe with his hip shaking moves in Grease and Saturday Night Fever, said that while Gere did a great job, he would have loved to have shown them all what he could do one more time. We would have loved to see that!
Coldplay singer snaps in Byron
Coldplay singer Chris Martin has been charged with malicious damage in Byron Bay on the NSW north coast. The chart-topping UK band is currently in Australia on tour. According to reports, Martin was allegedly involved in an incident at a Byron Bay beach resort with photographer Jon Lister who photographed the frontman catching a few waves in the surf. Lister claims Martin demanded he deleted the pictures from his digital camera. As the argument progressed it is alleged the singer snapped and he went at Lister?s vehicle with a rock, before attempting to let the air out of his tyres. Police later arrived at Martin?s hotel where he was charged. He is due to appear in the local Byron Bay Local Court on October 8 on a charge of malicious damage. And we thought all the fuss was going to be over something juicy like photos of him and Gwynnie (Paltrow) in a compromising position – not Martin surfing, for crying out loud! Maybe he sings much better than he surfs and didn?t want the world to see?
Reggie wins Big Brother series 3
Last night Tasmanian fish and chip shop legend Reggie romped home to win series three of reality TV show Big Brother. In a world-first all-girl final, Reggie and fellow housemate Chrissie, a copywriter from SA, waited anxiously in the Dreamworld compound that has been their home for the past three months, while the nation cast their votes. Reggie, who won the crowd over with her classic one liners and true blue honesty, took out the top prize of $250,000 cash. But in true Reggie style, during the presentation of the prizes, she appeared more interested in the whereabouts of the Sony Playstation she had won that the wad of cash she had just collected. What a classic!
