Instructions

1. Begin with hair which has been freshly washed and dried. For an extra lift on your roots, use a volumising shampoo which creates an extra boost with minimal effort. Massage gently into your hair, and rinse with lukewarm water.

2. After hair has completely dried, use a pea-sized amount of oil and work this into your ends. Don’t bring it to the scalp since it will only lead to flat, lifeless locks.

Klorane Strengthening Serum with Quinine-Caffeine Complex, $32.95

3. To create those signature curls, use a wand, iron, or old-school rollers; it just depends on what you’re most comfortable with! If you are using a curling wand, section hair with a clip and start from top to bottom. This will ensure that the curls at the top will last, and won’t drop in the process.

4. Wrap small pieces of hair around the wand for 5-7 seconds, then release and shake the hair. This creates a classic, curl which doesn’t look too refined.

5. After you’re done, lightly spray your roots with a sea-salt spray. Work the product in with your fingers to create some extra volume before heading out the door.

5 Celebrity Hairstyles You Can Do in 5 Minutes or Less

Who has time to style their hair every  morning? Luckily, these five celebrity hairstyles are easy to do, look amazing and only take a few minutes to put together.

Sienna Miller’s half updo
If you can’t decide between wearing your hair loose or in a hair up style, the answer is: a half undo, a sophisticated style that looks beautiful yet only takes a minute or two to style. Medium to long hair lengths look the best in this style. To achieve the half updo, flip your hair upside down and spray the roots with hairspray for some lift. Then, take a few sections of hair around the crown, and braid or twist them into a loose bun to secure. The final result is a feminine style that will show off your best features. jenniferlawrencehair

Jennifer Lawrence’s pixie hairstyle
When Jennifer chopped off her mane last year because it was in the “icky awkward stage”, she went from girl-next-door to style icon. The feminine pixie cut looks amazing on Lawrence and shows off her spectacular blue eyes and luminous skin. A lot of women might be scared of getting the big chop, but rest assured that a pixie cut is surprisingly flattering and only takes seconds to style. To get this look, simply run a little hair texturising lotion through your hair after you shower and smooth it down with a blow dryer so the ends are set.

Rose Byrne’s easy side ponytail
A side ponytail is one of the easiest hairstyles to do, yet it’s perfect for any occasion. This hairstyle looks particularly great on girls with straight or curly hair. To achieve this look, run some curl smoothing cream through your tresses to enhance the curl pattern and reduce any frizz. If you have straight hair, use a large curling barrel to add some volume (don’t forget to use a heat protectant spray). Finally, brush your hair to the side and secure with a hair tie. The side ponytail looks great a little messy, so tease the ponytail for added volume.

Kate Bosworth’s high topknot
Show off killer cheekbones with a sophisticated top knot. This is one of the most popular celebrity hairstyles, and is great for elegant occasions because it highlights and lengthens your neck so that all eyes turn on you. The topknot works best on girls with straight hair because it’s easier to gather into a high ponytail. The first step is to gather your hair as high as possible. Then, use a hair donut to add body and secure. Finish with a light mist of hairspray to tame any flyways.

taylorswiftcurls

Taylor Swift curls
Who doesn’t love big, bouncy curls? However, curling hair can be gruelling and it takes an eternity. Plus, the heat from your curling iron can be damaging and result in breakage. Luckily there’s an easy way to curl the hair with less time and damage, and you’ll only need a headband. Headband curls only take five minutes to do, and it can be done in your sleep – literally. To achieve sexy curls, place a headband around your hair. Then, simply twirl the hair into the band and go to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, release the headband and the curls will fall loose. Avoid brushing the curls because they will lose the curl pattern and become waves.

Get the Look: Rose Byrne’s Pretty, Polished Makeup

Not only was Rose Byrne wearing one of our favourite red carpet dresses last week at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in NYC, but her makeup was totally on point, with a subtle smokey eye and rose blush lips. It’s a fabulous look for evenings when you don’t want heavily dramatic eyes or lips, but still want to look polished.

Here’s how celebrity makeup artist Leslie Lopez created Rose’s pretty makeup with the exact beauty products she used, plus some great makeup tips for making your makeup last all night.

Face
Leslie used Lancôme Teint Visionnaire foundation, which gives fantastic all-night coverage. Apply the foundation with a foundation brush, then go over any imperfections with a fine concealer brush.

She then applied Lancôme Blush Subtil Palette in Nectar Lace on the apples of her cheeks. This is a really pretty glow-from-within apricot hue which works on all skin tones to brighten the skin.

Eyes
To achieve Rose’s sophisticated smokey eye, Leslie used Lancôme Color Design Eye Brightening All-in-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Gris Fatale. This is an incredible palette which you can create a myriad of eye makeup looks with, from subtle daytime to dramatic evening eyes.

On the lashes, Leslie applied one of our favourite mascaras of all time, Lancôme Définicils Mascara in Black.

Lips
Rose’s lip colour is so pretty – a darker rose that you can wear for day and night. The shade is Lancôme Rouge in Love in Fiery Attitude. Apply, blot with a soft tissue, and apply a second coat, and your lippie will last for hours.

Get The Look: Rose Byrne’s Rosy Emmys Makeup

Rose Byrne is always one of our favourite celebrities on the red carpet, and that was no different at yesterday’s Emmys 2013, looking pretty-in-pink in Calvin Klein paired perfectly with rosy makeup (and as a side note, how sweet was boyfriend Bobby Cannavale thanking “the love of my life, Rose” during his acceptance speech for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Boardwalk Empire!).

Here’s how CHANEL celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee created the look.

Skin

Kate started by prepping Rose’s skin with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Essence Mist, followed quickly with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Gel Yeux. Next, she used a small amount of CHANEL Le Lift Creme Fine to give a beautiful, velvety, firm texture to her complexion.

Kate says Rose is blessed with beautiful, even-toned skin, so she only need a light dusting of CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 No. 30 to diffuse the light and give a velvet matte finish. Kate’s tip: apply with a large brush then use a damp beauty blender sponge to melt it into the skin for perfect coverage.

Eyes

Kate started by defining the eye socket with the darkest shade in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Eclosion. She then blended the peach shade above the socket to melt the socket away. The lash line was defined by wetting the matte brown shadow and blending out.

She finished with a coat of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir, then added few extra Ardell lashes.

Cheeks

Kate used Le Blush Creme de Chanel in Presage to add an apricot hue to the apples of Rose’s cheeks.

Lips

Kate use CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Byzantin, a deep rose.
