Girl, we’ve all been there.
The pop star has revealed she was undergoing chemo, not drug rehab last year.
Over the last few years fedoras have come back into fashion, and can be worn in a variety of ways. If you like to keep our outfits mostly minimal, invest in a monochrome fedora which will match almost any outfit you can think of creating – and keep your head warm.
Below are just a few different ways to stylishly wear your fedora in any type of weather!
A warm winter coat is just one way to style a classic fedora. It will help to keep your head warm on those cold evenings out of the house, and it works perfectly against the snow and stormy weather. Make sure to spray your fedora with a suede protector to keep it looking brand new.
For when the weather is a little warm, try wearing a boyfriend blazer over a shift dress for a chic day-to-night look. Style icons such as Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof know how to make this look work, and always complete their outfit with beachy waves.
During the summer season, pair your favourite little white crochet dress with a fedora. This juxtaposition between colour and texture is the perfect way to add a little edge to your outfit. We can’t go past a pair of black ankle boots, or flat sandals to complete the entire look.
Keep cool in the summer with a simple crop top and fedora combination. Choose a collared shirt if you have somewhere special to attend, and complete the look with a pair of kitten heels. Comfort is key!
The fantastic part about stripes is that they never seem to go out of season. We love this laid-back look by blogger Jules Sarinana, combining a neutral coloured fedora, denim, and of course, a classic t-shirt.
A simple fitted sweater is an easy item to throw on with your fedora. If you love the idea of colour-blocking, take it to the next level and wear with a vibrant red ip to further accessorise the entire outfit.
Keep cosy during the winter with an elegant cape, denim jeans, and your favourite fedora. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shows us the best way to make this entire ensemble work – with a pair of knee-high boots to keep it smart.

There is no denying that singer and actress Selena Gomez, has some of the best locks in the business.
While we love her hair looking super-straight and sleek, there’s just something about a curly hairdo which is perfect for creating drama on sad, lifeless hair. Create this look at home by following our five simple steps below.
1. Start with hair that has been freshly washed and blow-dried, preferably using a volume-maximising shampoo and conditioner. Work the product into your scalp, and massage for a few minutes into the follicles of your hair.
Carolyn Harding Volume Maintenance Shampoo Wash, $13.99
2. When you’re just about finished in the shower, rinse hair one last time with cold water – this helps to keep hair shiny and frizz-free! While your hair is still wet, use a leave-in conditioner to control dry hair, and lock-in moisture without leaving hair too oily.
KMS California MOISTREPAIR leave-in conditioner, $31.95
3. To create Selena’s signature curls, use hot rollers or a curling wand. In this case, we suggest using a curling wand since it’s so much easier to use! Depending on how thick or thin you want your curls, choose a larger barrel for big curls, and a smaller barrel for tighter ones.
Grab small pieces of hair, curl from root to tip, and remember to style hair away from your face. This will ensure that your curls look natural rather than framing the face in an unflattering way.
John Frieda Curling Tong, $49.99
4. Spritz hair lightly with a heat protecting spray, and make sure to keep product away from the roots. Curl your hair working in sections, and start from top to bottom (this ensures that the curls on the top remain intact).
TRESemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray, $8.04
5. Take small strands of hair from above the ears, and pin back to the sides to achieve this bombshell look. Make sure the pins are the same colour as your hair – this will disguise any hair faux-pas!

We still can’t decide who looked more amazing at this week’s MTV VMAs – Selena Gomez in her sexy dress with peekaboo bra, or Taylor Swift’s old Hollywood glam. One things’ for sure: Selena’s hair and makeup were flawless and we’ve found out how you can recreate the look at home straight from her hair and makeup artists.
Selena Gomez’ VMAs makeup:
Celebrity makeup artist Gita Bass started by prepping Selena’s skin with Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer: “It’s perfect even for sensitive skin and has no dyes, artificial perfumes, or harsh irritants that can upset skin.”
She then provided a little more coverage with Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and touching up dark circles and blemishes with Cle de Peau Concealer in Honey.
For that gorgeous winged eye, Gita used Make Up for Ever Aqua Eyes in 3L and finished with lashings of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cil Mascara (my new personal favourite mascara!).
Gita used Tom Ford Lip Color in Black Orchid to create Selena’s stunning berry lips.
Selena Gomez’ VMAs hair:
Celebrity hairstylist Lona Vigi created a super straight hair to compliment Selena’s elegant look. She started by combining John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula with Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme and applied it to wet hair: “This cocktail gave Selena’s hair a silky-smooth straight look and not only kept frizz at bay throughout the long night but also helped to impart a shine that lasts.”
Lona then blew Selena’s hair straight. Her tip for for drying hair straight? Flip the hair over and concentrate on drying at the root in order. This will stop the straight hair from looking too flat. Genius!
She then blew each section dry with an Ibiza round brush to create a little body. After the hair was dry, she applied John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme.
Lona’s other genius tip is to tame flyaways by spraying a little firm hold hairspray onto a clear mascara wand and gliding it over the front sections of hair that frame the face, and any other hairs that are prone to straying. What a simple but brilliant idea!
Are you a fan of Selena Gomez’ VMA look?
Whether you’ve got full, thick hair or fine, thin hair, you will have noticed the difference that your face shape makes on how your favourite hairstyle looks. Complimenting a round face isn’t always easy so we’ve put together five of the best hairstyles for round faces, plus some styling tips to help you style your new cut.
Whatever your hair type, long hair will elongate a round face. Selena Gomez’s longer, layered cut really compliments her round face. If you have very thick, curly hair, try taming it with specialised hair products and hair tools.
With short hair or tied-up hair, try adding volume on the top of the head with moose, spritz, back-combing or wax, just like style queen Ginnifer Goodwin who adds texture to her pixie cut with a little hair product, instantly elongating the face.
Fringes can look amazing on round faces, just avoid thick fringes on hair that is shoulder length or above – this will just swamp your face. Kirsten Dunst opts for a soft, side-swept fringe will looks romantic and feminine yet flattering.
Thick or curly hair can look very dense when cut short, making your face look rounder. If you have very thick hair and wish to cut your hair to shoulder length or shorter, layering and feathering can make the hair look lighter and smoother. Law and Order’s Mariska Hargitay might have thick, full hair, but her chic short hairstyle and clever layering makes her hair look lighter and younger.
When wearing hair up, trail some hair at the front to frame the face – Emma Stone is a pro at the updo with soft, feathered layers around the face.
Hairstyling tips for round faces:
1. Frame your face by curling the front of the hair inwards. This looks best when done at around chin length.
2. As with any face shape, healthy, well-kept hair will always make you look and feel great, so stick to a daily hair care beauty regime, avoiding heated styling aids and chemical-heavy products when possible. Pay attention to your hair type and condition when choosing from among the many fashionable hairstyles for round faces that are out there.
