Hugh Jackman’s Marriage Secrets

Hugh Jackman has spilled the beans on how he keeps the romance alive in his marriage.

“My number one rule for romance is surprise,” Jackman says in the August issue of Good Housekeeping. “If I bring Deb flowers every Tuesday, yeah, it’s nice, but is it romantic?”

The Wolverine star has been married to Deborra-Lee Furness, who he calls his “best mate”, for 17 years.

Despite having two children and a busy work schedule, Jackman says the key to romance is shaking your routine up.

“So much of life is about your routine. I [recently] pretended I was still on the set. I called Deb and said, ‘I’ll be back late tonight.'”

He then surprised her by showing up hours earlier. “And she got such a shock. I’d made reservations at our favourite lunch place. It was three hours before the kids finished school, and it was awesome because it was unplanned.”

The gorgeous couple also keep their marriage strong by never being apart for more than two weeks, a rule Furness instated.

“When I met her, she’d already done about 20 movies,” Jackman says. “She said, ‘It’s not that I think you’re going to go off with a costar, or vice versa. But people get used to living apart. You get used to handling a problem yourself.'”

Q&A With The Aussie Diet Coke Hunk Matt Wilson

Have you seen the latest Diet Coke ads with local hunk Matt Wilson? Pretty sexy, right? To celebrate 30 years in Australia, the iconic Diet Cock Hunk is back and it’s time for Aussie women to decide who’s hotter – Matt or the UK Diet Coke Hunt, Andrew Cooper.

SheSaid chats to Matt about why he’s better than the English Diet Coke hunk, how he stays so chiselled, and the important question – is he single!

Convince us: why is the Aussie bloke that much better than an English hunk?

Because I’m a true handy man! He’s a model but I’m a carpenter in my day job so I can mow your lawn and build your dream home! Hopefully this helps twist your arm to vote for me!

How do you stay so chiselled?

A good eating plan and an active job. On the weekends I enjoy a run around Bondi, which is where I live.

Describe your ideal weekend…

Full of good lunches and dinners but as much relaxation as possible. After a busy week I just like to completely unwind and have a break from it all.

Are you a ready-in-10 kind of guy or do you spend hours in the bathroom?

Ready in 10. I’m pretty low maintenance. I can’t find enough things to do in the bathroom to stay in there any longer, there’s only so much shaving and moisturising a man can do.

OK fess up: are you single or taken?

I’m taken. Sorry ladies!

Vote for your favourite hunk and get in with a chance of winning a share of $100,000 cash! To enter, buy any Diet Coke product at Woolworths then enter online at Facebook.com/DIETCOKEAustralia.

How to Get Over After Being Dumped?

Being dumped is pretty awful and life changing. But we have 5 sure ways to get over him and to move on.

  • Get a box – Yep! Go down to your local supermarket and get a cardboard box so you can pack everything that reminds you of him away forever. I suggest you put everything from CD’s to love letters to photographs. This doesn’t mean you destroy them it just helps you to erase him from your life until you are ready to deal with them.
  • Move Furniture – The best advice I have if you are depressed is to move furniture around. Have a big spring-clean. Move your bed, change your doona cover hang something fresh on the wall. Go second-hand shopping to find a slick new treat for your bedroom
  • Get OFF the Pill – If you were on the pill well now is the time to stop taking it for a while. This may also help you from having a one-night dangerous stand with the ex one night.

Join a Gym – Getting fit and beautiful is the best revenge and it will also change your routine.

  • Strut your stuff – If he always liked your long hair or didn’t like you in glasses then cut those locks and find a pair of frames you have always loved. Get a makeover at a beauty counter and start believing in yourself again. If he disliked make-up start wearing it again. It will make you feel in control.
