Easy Ways To Style Short Hair

Anyone with short hair will tell you that styling it is a breeze – straightening your hair doesn’t take long, curling it takes even less time, and applying a volumizing product to the ends basically takes under a minute.

If you’re out of ideas when it comes to styling your short hair, below are just a few tips to make your haircare routine that much more interesting.

RELATED: 6 DIY Celebrity Hair Trends

Rollers

If you’ve got the time, invest in some high-quality rollers for your hair. Choose thin, small rollers if you want more defined curls, and thick rollers if you want more body in your hair. Once you’ve taken your hair out of the rollers, mist lightly with hairspray and comb out any loose ends.

Not only will this give hair a natural body and bounce, but it also works while you sleep!

Easy Ways To Style Short Hair

Beach waves

You don’t need to go to the beach to get those genuine beach waves anymore. Use your hair straightener on an angle and create subtle curls all over your hair. If your hair is angular (shorter in the back, and longer in the front), you may need a friend to style the back for you.

Easy Ways To Style Short Hair

Scarf

Hair accessories are amazing in all types of seasons, but a scarf is perfect if you’re heading to the beach or park. Not only will it keep your hair intact throughout the entire day, but a little wind won’t cause it from completely falling out of place.

Easy Ways To Style Short Hair

Braided updo

Create subtle braids at the nape of the neck if you want to keep hair looking neat and tidy. All you need to do is divide the hair into 2 sections, plait, then carefully pin them down at the nape of the neck. Is this the best 1-minute hairstyle – we definitely think so!

Easy Ways To Style Short Hair

Expert tip: If your hair feels a bit thin and lack-lustre, spray a touch of texturising hair product onto damp hair. If you’ve just stepped out of the shower, pat hair dry with a towel before applying a touch of volumising oil on the roots. Blow-dry your hair upside-down for instant volume that will last all day long!

Below are just a few celebrity hairstyles we’ve picked out which should serve as sufficient inspiration if you’re ever inclined to chop your hair!

The fringe

One of our favourite shorter hairstyles is inspired by Frankie Sanford, pop-singer from the British girl band, The Saturday’s. Not only is Frankie’s hair easy to style, but the shorter bangs at the front allow you to create a number of different looks.

The Best Bob Hairstyles Ever The short pixie

Back in 2006, Sienna Miller chopped her long blonde locks in favour of a shorter hairstyle to play the lead part of Edie Sedgewick in Factory Girl. More than eight years later, and Sienna has yet again chopped her hair into this super-flattering style.

Go for wispy bangs to frame a square shaped face, and cut hair shorter in the back for added texture.

The Best Bob Hairstyles Ever The lob

Otherwise known as the long bob, is perfect for girls who still want to keep a bit of length in their hair. This style sits above the shoulders, and usually sports a blunt haircut for added drama.

Host and reality television star, Giuliana Rancic wears the lob with long layers, but you can also cut a fringe to make the hairstyle look less harsh.

The Best Bob Hairstyles Ever

The ombré bob

Singer Ciara has transformed her hair into a super-short ombré bob right in front of our eyes! This style works perfectly from dark to light hair, since highlights are hand-painted on the ends for a gradient look. Go for a short chop (just under the ears), to create the illusion of texture in thin hair.

Top Hairstyles For Your Face Shape

Ever wondered why that certain hairstyle never suited you? There are a few certain factors to take into consideration when deciding on a new haircut – colour, texture and most importantly, your face shape. Check out our quick guide to nailing your next haircut.

Round face

An asymmetrical cut looks amazing on a round face, since the mix of lengths gives the face some much needed definition. A fringe, bangs, and shorter layers on the front will give some structure and slim out the face. If you want to go for a shorter haircut, choose a style which hits at the chin. This will soften out the face and bring some much needed body to the hair.

Top Hairstyles For Your Face Shape

Oval faces

Oval faces have the tendency to look too long and tired, so why not try some blunt bangs instead. They will give the illusion of a smaller face, since the forehead will be covered up at the brow line. A short bob is another great choice since it frames the face and softens up the entire look.

Top Hairstyles For Your Face Shape

Square faces

Opt for an asymmetrical bob which will even out any harsh jaw lines on the face. Make sure the strands hit slightly above the chin since this will dramatically transform the shape of your face. Add texture at the roots for a voluminous look. Side bangs are also a great choice since they take the edge off the jawline, and shift the focus to the high dimensions of the face.

Top Hairstyles For Your Face Shape

Heart faces

If you have a heart shaped face, the best kind of haircut is one that hits directly below the jawline. This helps to frame the face, and makes it look less triangular. Balayage highlights at the ends of the hair will also make the face look sweet and soft.

Celebrity Hairstyles: Pamela Anderson’s New Pixie Cut

Who’s the latest celebrity to chop off their hair? Pamela Anderson has ditched her signature bombshell blonde locks and opted for an ultra short pixie cut. We actually had to do a double take!

Anderson, 46, showed off her chic new short haircut in L.A. today – and we think she looks amazing!

Seems like the pixie haircut is one of Hollywood’s favourite celebrity hairstyles – with Charlize Theron, Michelle Williams and Anna Hathaway all sporting the feminine ‘do.

The Baywatch babe who now devotes her time to animal rights was accompanied by ex-husband  Rick Salomon. Two weeks ago Anderson admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that the pair have been spending more time together lately, including a holiday to France where they were spotted on a nudist beach.

“I say we’re best friends…with benefits,” she told the talk show host. “I don’t want to meet anyone else…I’m very happy. We’re happy. He’s a great guy.”
