Try coloured mascara

Put away those falsies in favour of coloured mascara which can really make your eyes pop. Navy is a great alternative for girls with naturally light complexions, since black can often look a little harsh.

Make sure your tinted moisturiser or BB cream is packed with SPF to protect your skin from the sun. Choose a shade which blends flawlessly into your neck and don’t forget to set it with translucent powder.

Don’t underestimate a highlighter

Use a liquid highlighter on the very top of your cheekbones to create the illusion of a healthy glow. Powder highlights are better for women who have oily skin types since it works to mattify the skin at the same time.

Use a bronzer

Apply your bronzer over the forehead, nose and cheekbones to give the skin a natural glow. Make sure to blend with a powder brush and lightly dust your decolletage.

Try a natural blush

Avoid using blushes with glitter since they can make the skin look artificial. Lightly tap your brush into the blush, remove the excess onto the back of your hand, then apply directly onto the cheekbones for a youthful glow.

We’re all about those light pink lips, and a subtle lip liner is the best way to make this happen. Carefully line your lips emphasising the cupids bow in the centre, then fill in any gaps with a lipstick of similar colour.

To achieve those rosy cheeks, use a cream or tint on the inside of your face. This brings a healthy, youthful glow and blends in beautifully for all skin tones – even those which are more dry and dehydrated!

4 Easy Makeup Tips for Spring

Spring calls for fresh, dewy skin and bright, gorgeous hues. Try these easy makeup tips for spring that look great on everyone.

Keep your skin looking soft and dewy with BB cream

Part moisturizer and part foundation, BB cream also works overtime as a sunscreen and an anti-aging treatment, which makes it our number one spring beauty must-have.BB cream are so light it feels like you’re wearing nothing but lotion, perfect for anyone who wants flawless skin but hates wearing heavy foundation. We love how luminous our skin looks with Dr. Brandt Signature Flexitone BB Cream, and another favorite on our shelves is Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm.

Get bold with orange lipstick

A quick and easy way to brighten up your face is with a bright pop of lip color. If you’re feeling particularly bold and adventurous, give orange lipstick a try. True orange isn’t always the most flattering, but coral looks fantastic with pretty much all skin tones. After applying, blot your lips for a matte finish, then reapply. If you’re looking for a more subdued way to incorporate the trend, Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint has a gorgeous orange stain called Spirited that is a makeup artist favorite.

Ramp up the drama with the eternally chic cat eyeliner

Cat eye makeup is always on trend, and it’s so pretty for spring, especially paired with floral fashions and feminine accessories. If you struggle with uneven or asymmetrical cat eye makeup, don’t worry, we’ve got your back. Draw the outline of each cat’s eye with a pencil, then fill them in with the liquid liner. Dip a thin Q-tip in makeup remover and carefully clean up your work. If you’re handy with a brush, we’ve stayed faithful to Urban Decay’s 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner for years now.

Get your feet in on the fun with some nail polish

Once it’s warm enough to dustoffyour beloved open-toed sandals, grab a bottle of nail polishand get to work on those toes! 5 Spring Makeup Trends

Ever wanted to be ahead of the curb and incorporate some new makeup trends into your usual routine? Even though we’re still in the midst of winter, we have compiled a list of makeup looks which are sure to be huge, during the spring and summer months ahead.

Lip stains

Pretty-in-pink lip stains are a fun trend throughout the entire year, since they include a pop of colour into a mundane makeup look. Achieve this look by gently dabbing your favourite lipstick onto clean lips. Then simply add a touch of pressed powder over the top for the much-coveted stain effect.

We recommend: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis Glossy Stain, $50

Voluminous lashes

Rather than getting eye-lash extensions, save yourself a bit of cash and work on volumising those natural lashes. Many lash serums help to strengthen eye-lashes and prepare them for mascara. Don’t forget to curl your lashes before carefully applying mascara to both the top and bottom!

We recommend: Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes, $40

Dewy skin

Forget about that matte finish – spring is all about achieving a dewy look to your foundation. Swap those full coverage foundations for a much lighter application, so your skin can also breathe and catch a break. Tinted moisturisers and BB creams offer light coverage and work with the skins natural texture.

We recommend: BECCA Luminous Skin Colour, $68

Coloured liner

Sometimes black eyeliner can prove to be too harsh – especially for girls with light blonde or strawberry blonde hair and a pale complexion. Opt for navy, purple or brown liners which bring a pop of colour to tired eyes, and will cheer up your entire look; minimal effort required.

We recommend: Revlon ColorStay Creme Gel Eye Liner, $24.95

Luminous cheekbones

A clever highlight and illuminating combination is often the secret to luminous and glowing cheekbones. A little goes a long way, so don’t try and pack it all on at the same time. Gently work the product into the skin with a damp beauty blender, or your ring finger since heat will allow it to set into a natural finish.

We recommend: Nars Illuminator in Copacabana, $48
