In keeping up with you label conscious lassies, Myer have signed up 11 new brands to their womenswear collection, including many new up and comers. Now available exclusively at Myer are the timeless creations of Jaclin Chouchana, the edgy Kate Sylvester clothing, and the old days movie style designs by Tim O?Connor. Lisa Ho at David Jones
Although the Myer fashion show was a new event for 2004, the David Jones show is well renowned for being a grand social occasion on the fashion calendar. A night of debonair sophistication, David Jones proved they weren’t to be outdone but reiterating their exclusive contract with 16 of Australia’s hottest designers. Their range includes the more established brands such as Scanlan & Theodore, Morrissey, Collette Dinnigan, akira, Sally Smith, Carlson, Zimmerman, sass and bide, Lisa Ho, Anthea Crawford, AG, Easton Pearson, Trelise Cooper, Ashley Fogel, Calibre and Alannah Hill. With supermodel Megan Gale as the face behind the name, the David Jones collection promises to be elegant and chic.

Kate Sylvester at Myer
The new winter season sees the reprise of many trends we?ve worn in recent years, but also a few new ones. Feminine lace, bows and flowy designs are set to yet again be huge over winter. Brands such as Kate Sylvester, Gwendolynne, Akira and Lisa Ho show off this style perfectly. Black is the new black, but this year it will also be teamed with biker hip, so add a few chains and buckles to your outfit. Bold prints in black, white and red will be saturating the stores, particularly if it?s 60?s influenced ? flat shoes, short minis and patent accessories. Denim is of course back in, perhaps bigger than ever, with thousands of styles and colours to choose from. Try the blazer style or biker style jacket.

Collette Dinnigan at David Jones
Let?s not forget the men. In dressing, a layered urban style is all the rage this season. Check out
P’Diddy’s label Sean John and Triple 5 Soul. Hip hop wear such as Designer sneakers and sweat hoods are also in vogue. But the biggest new trend in mens fashion isn’t the clothing. For the first time in Australian history, an all male make-up is being introduced. Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male ?All Handsome, All Clean? is being offered by Myer. Included in the range is kohl pen, concealer, nail pen, bronzing powder and brush, nourishing lip balm and shiny lip roll. So if your boy/brother/best friend considers himself to be a bit of a metro and spends as much time in front of the mirror as you do, this might be the brand for him!
