Take the three-day detox!

Feeling as plumped up as a prized turkey before Christmas? Clean out your insides with this sensible three-day detox meal plan.

DAY ONE:

Breakfast: Half a grapefruit, one orange and a large slice of watermelon. A cup of peppermint tea and beetroot and ginger juice.

Lunch: A salad with English spinach leaves, tomato, cucumber, broccoli and snake beans with fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. A glass of tomato juice.

Dinner: Steamed brown rice with steamed vegies, such as bok choy, broccoli, snake beans, spinach dressed with the juice of a lemon and a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Make a strawberry, banana and orange juice with ginger.

Grazing: Dried fruit and as much fresh fruit as you like.

DAY TWO:

Breakfast: Two tablespoons fresh lemon juice in a glass of hot water. Have as much fruit as you want. Like four apples/three bananas or two mangoes, you get the idea.

Lunch: Repeat Day One but add any new vegies. Have a glass of vegetable juice.

Dinner: Pasta with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and steamed vegies. Cup of herbal tea with large slice of melon.

Grazing: A glass of beet-cucumber juice or fresh apple juice.

DAY THREE:

Breakfast: A fresh fruit salad with a dollop of low-fat plain yoghurt. As much fresh fruit as you like.

Lunch: Repeat Day One but add a new variety of vegetables. Cup of peppermint tea.

Dinner: Bake as many vegetables as you like (not potatoes) drizzle them with extra olive oil and fresh herbs. Glass of fresh orange, strawberry and apple juice.

Grazing: As much fresh fruit as you like or dried fruit.

Tips: Drink as much water and sleep as possible and go for a casual stroll with a friend in the fresh air. Once the detox is over, just eat as healthily as possible and cut down on your alcohol intake.
