Top 10 Best Dressed At The Oscars
This might divide some but I absolutely love this Givenchy lavender and neon yellow structural gown – it’s my favourite pick of the night. As a bonus her hair and makeup are perfection.
She was last year’s best dressed (remember that shimmery gown with Veronica Lake hair?) and this year is no different. Sandra pulls off lipstick red like no other and proves ditching a loser husband is the best accessory you can have.
Wow. This lovely-in-lavender Ellie Saab gown may be a little low-cut but it just takes my breath away! A mix of floaty chiffon with sexy lace, it plays off against Mila’s doll-like skin and dark, sultry hair and eye makeup.
How dreamy is this nude chiffon Marchesa gown – just like a floating cloud. So beautiful and timeless…I think a lot of brides are going to take inspiration from this style and colour.
Helena Bonham Carter
What I love with Helena here is that she stuck to her eccentric roots (is that a garter and temporary tattoo of the Union Jack?) but still gives a nod to the elegance expected of the Oscars. Beautiful skin, minimal jewellery and a wicked smile.
Dame Helen is always exquisite – an example to all women, not just older women. This pewter-grey satin gown is just gorgeous, and as always her beautiful makeup only enhances her natural good looks.
Expect to see this colour pop up everywhere now. Scarlett glows in this stunning burgundy lace gown with funky updo and smokey copper eyes.
All eyes were always going to be on pregnant Natalie, and she pulls it off in a plum off-the-shoulder Rodarte gown (Rodarte designed the Black Swan costumes so nice to see her acknowledging them).
I was a bit worried about Jacki after the mumsy Golden Globes dress she wore, but she is an absolute stunner in this Hollywood-inspired Collette Dinnigan gown. Her makeup makes her look radiant – a perfect example of how makeup can freshen your appearance without needing to resort to surgery!
I love individuality on the Oscars’ red carpet and Florence Welch goes all out in this pastel yellow vintage-inspired lace and chiffon dress. How beautiful is that colour against her copper red hair?
