Top 6 Spring/Summer Fashion Trends To Look Out For

Say goodbye to the last few days of winter by getting a first-hand look at the hottest trends we’ll be wearing this spring and summer – from ladylike chic to disco glamour. The Westfield style team have identified the hottest warm weather trends to suit your lifestyle and budget.

Trend 1: Colour Pop

Colour blocking is a simple, yet effective trend that plays bold pieces against each other for a loud and dynamic look. Try punchy hue combinations like red and purple, mustard yellow and electric blue, aquamarine or pink and white – the sky’s the limit with this technicolour trend!

“Colour is a major trend we?re seeing this Spring Summer, from pants, tops, skirts and dresses in bold, vibrant colours such as pink, orange, blue and yellow,” says The Westfield Insider. “Make this look pop with fluorescent nails and a cherry lipstick.”

Trend 2: Minimal White

The antidote to spring’s bright, techno hues is the season’s coolest (non) colour in sleek, simple silhouettes and styles. This season’s white is popping up in structured suiting, wide legged pants, sleeveless vests, feminine lace, dresses and accessories.
“Pulling off this white hot trend is easy,” says Alyce Cowell, The Westfield Insider. “Mix a crisp white tee or blouse with bright pants, skirt or shorts, or bring out your softer side with a lace or embroidered white summer dress.”

Trend 3: Ladylike

To flaunt your feminine side, look for full or A-line skirts, cropped jackets, cardigans and pleat details, paired with feminine ballet flats, skinny heels and round toe pumps. Pair with a coral or pink lippy and rosy cheeks for a bonafide ladylike finish head to toe.

Trend 4: Stripes

A much loved summer staple, stripes are once again making their mark as the weather heats up. This season’s trend is veering from the classic nautical and getting a colour injection: stripes are big, bold and bright.

Trend 5: Sport Luxe

Sculptured dresses, tapered trousers, chic jumpsuits and playsuits, exposed zips, jersey dresses, tees and tops characterise this popular trend.
“This is one of my favourite trends,” says Alyce. “It?s so easy to wear and comfortable, and can easily take you from day to night – just add heels and go!”

Trend 6: 70s Disco Glamour

Inspired by international catwalks, the 70s trend is back and more glam than ever. Master this trend by choosing Studio 54-inspired brights, statement accessories and chunky platforms.
“Bring a little 70s disco glamour to your wardrobe with peasant tops, maxi dresses, satin pants, plunging necklines and wide leg trousers,” says Alyce. “And don?t forget about accessories – look out for wooden jewellery and statement pieces like oversized necklaces, cuffs and bangles in bright colours.”
