Scarlett Johansson has enviably stunning skin, so we couldn’t believe when she revealed the secret to her gorgeous glow costs just $2 and can be picked up at the supermarket!
Turns out, Johansson washes her face with gold old apple cider vinegar – found in any supermarket for about $2.
“A while back, I started researching natural skincare,” she tells Elle UK. “It’s a nice way to treat your skin if you don’t want to use all those harsh chemicals that a dermatologist would recommend.”
Johansson adds, “If your skin is problematic or you’re having a lot of breakouts, it’s really healing. It’s a little bit stinky but if you’re not sleeping over at your boyfriend’s, it’s really effective!”
And she’s right: the acidity in apple cider vinegar acts like a toner, balancing your skin’s pH levels to provide a natural glow-from-within.
Apple cider vinegar is also brilliant as a hair rinse to restore natural shine, on skin to soothe sunburn and soften calloused skin, and makes a great foot bath diluted in warm water.
We’re going to try apple cider vinegar as a face wash and report back – but tell us, have you ever tried apple cider vinegar as a beauty treatment?
