Who Wore It Best At The Glamour Awards?

The annual Glamour Women Of The Year Awards were held overnight in New York and despite recognition from the industry on outstanding charity work done by celebrities, it was really all about the red carpet.

Cher was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award for her multiple charity efforts, from opening schools for orphans in Kenya to helping wounded veterans in the US. Dressed in her signature biker chic, she told the audience: “You have no idea how non-glamorous I am when I wake up. I walk around in sweatpants and Ugg boots. I don’t care.”

Hottie Josh Duhamel looked very pleased with himself accompanied by wife Fergie who stunned the crowd in a sexy red Zac Posen gown. The Black Eyed Peas poppet won an award for fundraising for AIDS and breast cancer.

We’re not sure about Hilary Swank’s chainmail bodice, but Kate Hudson went for old school glamour, channeling Veronica Lake with a side part 1920s blow-wave and vampish lips.

Maybe Julia Roberts wanted to stay in with the kids last night, but she didn’t look very red carpet worthy, draped in a figure-drowning black velvet coat. Oprah presented Roberts with an award for promoting renewable energy, herself dressed more like a schoolmarm in a high-neck blouse and jacket with her hair up in a messy bun, shunning her usual preference for colourful, form-flattering outfits.
